When I originally thought of this online decor shops post, it was because a. I just shot my home, and showing off all the special things I’ve collected over the years brings me so much joy, and I want other people to feel the same way about things in their homes. B. Both Pierce & Ward and A1000xBetter were/are having special sales (sorry, P&W is over), &c. I like lists of good places to shop because my mind goes blank when I try to think of stores on the spot. Fair warning, these may not be the most affordable places to pick up great decor. Running a small business isn’t cheap, as I’m sure you can imagine, so understandably, they have to sell pieces that will make them a profit, and their inventory isn’t endless like big box stores tend to be. Etsy is always a great online place to find great deals. And don’t get me wrong, I love a big box store too. Big box doesn’t mean bad design! However, if you decorate your home exclusively with items purchased from those types of stores, you will still have a very beautiful home, but it will not be truly unique to you. If possible you want pieces that are vintage, pieces that were discovered and found at flea markets, local shops, good online shops, and family heirlooms! I didn’t even think this would be a companion piece to Arlin’s Whimsical article this week, but as I was choosing pieces, there are really a lot of wonderful Whimsical pieces. So please bookmark, pin, maybe buy if you want, but most of all, enjoy!

what you won’t get pierce and wardIf you’re in LA, they also have a magical shop in Los Feliz, but if you’re not, their site has lots of amazing treasures. Caitlin and I actually went to their warehouse sale, and Caitlin had a great time! Since I just shot my apartment (She says again π) I clearly didn’t need anything and I was extremely proud of the restraint I showed, ha. In fact, if you’re an Instagram user, make sure to follow your favorite shops/designers. You never know when they will want to empty their inventory. Restoration House Shop A beautiful, antique shop owned by Kenesha Po-Beaux. We met her a few years ago, and she is absolutely amazing! The prices are also good. But since there’s a lot of old stuff out there, you’ll want to check back frequently to see what’s new and get it right away if you like it. That’s the beauty and curse of vintage…once it’s gone, it’s likely gone π This style is just more traditional/antique/rustic. But whatever your style, check it out!

Oblist is a stunning shop owned by a husband-wife team in Paris. The pieces are impossibly unique, on the more modern side, and what isn’t vintage is mostly made to order, which is in line with their effort toward less waste and overall sustainability. This site is one of the pricier ones (again, the pieces I’ve chosen above are in the most affordable range), but it’s definitely worth a look to get inspired.

Also, another woman owned shop! But why they’re really special is because of all the amazing things they sell. Craze is the name of the game here, and color is everywhere. As you can see from the small assortment above, sweet and simple are perfect descriptors, and you’ll undoubtedly find a special piece here.

Casa de Lavelle Longtime blogger Cassandra Lavelle (formerly Coco Kelly) has a beautiful daughter. Her taste is impeccable, and if I lived in Seattle, I would be at this store. For now, I’ll just have to look/shop online π But like others on this list, she’s got vintage and beautiful handmade goods, of which you’ll want one of each. I mean, remember her basement kitchen? She knows what she is doing.

If you like folk/primitive decor, you’ll love tin binThis is another family-owned shop in Lancaster, PA, and although they have a lot of cute things, their lighting is my favorite. and jacob It’s my heart for so many reasons, and you’ll see some very special pieces in my living room π Their playful shapes and mix of natural materials are great. I had a chance to visit their showroom in Mexico City a few years ago (I think as of this post, I did everything a few years ago), and it was pretty special. The people working there were very kind, especially since I didn’t realize that their showroom wasn’t technically open to the public…oops! Although I’m not sure about shipping to the US at this time, the pieces are priced quite reasonably. He crazy tea party The cake stand is insane! I may have to start baking to justify the purchase.

Last but not least, we have a pop-up online/local shop in Pasadena! We showcase the fantastic work of Kirsten Blazek and her design firm 1000 times better Many times here on the blog (like here, here and here, to name a few). I also had the pleasure of meeting Kirsten a few years agoβ¦just kidding! Was at the Pasadena Showcase House with Arlene this year, and as I expected, she was amazing. Here’s information about the sale:
“Kirsten will be launching her own pop-up shop in Pasadena, where she’ll be introducing a limited collection of furnishings and accessories via Instagram every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. PST. Starting October 11, the drop will include a curated selection of Kirsten’s favorite pieces from her staging inventory, including furnishings, accessories, home decor, and more. Available to shoppers for local pickup. There will be an opportunity to purchase pieces through Instagram.β
So while it’s not really “a store” and it’s only half online, I had to let the people of LA know! Kirsten’s taste is great to share π
That’s all I have for you today. I know there are lots of other great decor shops online, so please mention them in the comments!
I love you, it means it.
