A few weeks ago, we revealed the talk of our living room and my closet, and I am happy to report that I have another place to share with you – my dining room! If you have seen the last two blog posts, you must have seen one or two peeping, because all the spaces are adjacent to each other – but now it is time to take you on the entire tour of this funky small place and share what I have done.

As a reminder, this apartment is a total gem-a tonable place, walkable for fun places, month-by-month, vintage attraction, and the original tile in the kitchen and bathroom, but I needed a good dose of TLC when I showed a good dose in almost every room. let me show you…

    First dining room

Yes, so it was not a completely turnky move-in position … but my lover, Austin, and I gave the entire apartment a quick paint job. This is a proof that you should never consider the power of a fresh, white paint less:

So better, isn’t it?! Beige-Jay Bury Walls were not just this. Also, if you look closely they were very bang, so it created a large number of differences. However, it made the floor flaws more noticeable. We are lucky for the original hardwood floor in our apartment, but also very bang. But I knew that I could cover it with just a rug and a big, long dining table, so it was not a very big thing (because renting the fare to re -start the farewell floor where I personally draw the line).

I explained the design direction for my apartment in great detail in my living room, but TLDR is: We are “going to single grandmother who is back on the streets and ready for the party.” I know you probably like, “Malorie, what does it really mean ??” A simple way to insert it: a touch of vintage, a touch of modern, and a lot of feminine energy – this is a vibe!

Also, see that ancient AC unit? It is going to look very old, I did not even try to see what it works (I thought it is broken because it is broken … as it is a missing button and the overall super sketch lol), so when Austin and I painted this whole space in the last summer, it was about 90 degrees, and we never turned it on. I laughed very hard when I finally pushed the button and realized that there was really crank … I was honestly shocked. To say all this, I knew that I wanted to find a way to cover that puppy, but still make sure it was functional… it is quite an eye.

If you are My chase For some time, you know that I have one thing about leopards and/or tiger wallpapers. Just take a look at the bathroom from my old studio apartment – I am still suffering from those walls. Fold some leopards about coolness and the sheer zodiac of personality … I think it’s very fun. So I sample tons of various wallpapers, but eventually was Sarah Sharman Samuel X Lulu and Georgia Tiger Jacquard Grasscloth One In my heart (and since that moment this pattern fell). Originally, I was going to go with one of dark yellow color, but then realized that this room is already quite dark during the day – and while a ton is a great idea to get into a darkness in a room without natural light – I work from home here all the time and knew that it would have to live in a deep yellow room for every hour, so we went with a melodious white melody. And I put it in myself !!

    Dining room progress

Obviously, this wallpaper is not peel-and-stick-so I originally installed regular wallpaper on the walls, but to make two things easier to take off later: 1. I overlap the panels slightly so that I could easily pick up corners and sides, and 2. I used less glue, if I was the owner of a place, I was a place. Ideally, the next tenant would like to keep the wallpaper up, so I hope I don’t have to remove it, but if I have to remove it, it’s not a big thing – you just use a steamer and a scraper, and yes, it takes a little elbow Greece, but it stops. The wallpaper in my previous apartment was not either peeled, and it took about 3 or 4 hours to remove it, but I got my security deposit back, no problem.

Wallpaper can be a large investment (time and money-wise), which you get, but it really has the biggest impact in my opinion. I mean, just look for yourself … (reveal incoming!) …

    Dining room

rug , dining chairs , Dinner table , Wallpaper , Chandelier , sconces , art print , Vase , Candle holder , Colored color

There is that !! My dining room in all his glory. Once the wallpaper is up, I took a ton -shaped sample and found the right shade for the supplement – White shaded by Fero and BallIt can sometimes bend like a tan and is like a mouwe other time, and it’s just in every light! Then I thought of adding to a fun molding under the chair rail, but I can do this for step 2, or it can’t do it at all, because it is a rental and I am not sure it will be worth the bang for the deer.

Dining table And Chairs Really based on the entire location – I like their modern shapes with more traditional spirit wallpapers. I wanted to mix a good mix of old and new (read: sexy grandmother). I swap Owl Prakash (of course) for this grand soho house ChandelierWhich has the right traditional/modern mixture, and I was truly watching it for years.

Now let’s chat about that ugly AC unit in the window …

To cover that window AC unit, my quick and easy fix was to pop into a cafe curtain. Functionally, this is perfect – you can slide it on one side if you want to let go to some light from the window, and you can slide it on the other side to use the AC unit in summer. It helped with the eyes so much that it was an ancient box in the middle of the window. In an ideal world, I will not have that AC and some gorgeous pinch floor-to-sealing curtains will be done, so cafes curtains will not be like a chandelier in the eyes line, but the AC unit is so functional and I really like to live comfortably in my house, so we had to keep it.

This rug The super cheap was cheap – I needed a strange size (7 × 10) and I did not want to invest too much in it. When I found it one, I knew that it was perfect for space. They sconces There are hardwide sconus, but I don’t have a junction box here, so I just put it Rechargeable light bulb Among them, and I am really in love. They are from the crate and barrel ex athena Callab, and I had been watching them for a long time. I like to invest in the light system that I am planning to take with me, and in this place Prakash will definitely come to my next place or project with me.

I needed some big art for this place, so I went through something Slim arons print (My favorite photographer – I always like to do my work in my projects). I got This 20 × 20 print And put it in 30 × 30 frame – then I did a little DIY to make the framing more expensive. I found 24 × 24 mats with 20 × 20 cutouts and then two 30 × 30 mats with 24 × 24 cutouts. I took one of the mats and took a black outline with sharpie around its edge – then I put the second 30 × 30 mats on top so that it would cover any flaws. Note that the black outline is on all sides – this is the only angle of this picture that shows only 3!

    sconces , art print

I want to swap this frame to be a swap/bronze antique-covered frame-but I have not yet found a one that I like yet, and the frames can have big investments. So now I am using This oneWhich is really a really great quality (and it’s the real glass – it is difficult to find a large, inexpensive frame that does not use acrylic), and it is not the total hand and a leg that it is how big it is.

frame , Gold corner , Music center vintage postcard , Los Felise Vintage Postcard Candle holder (vintage)

Here on this wall, I made a gallery of vintage la/loss failies postcards, and it was crazy. I have to show you a breakdown …

Frame Sold in bulk and on average $ 3 one piece (I found 9 × 12 in a packet of 3), and they do not come with a mat, so I bought those people in bulk Very (in a packet of 10 for $ 30), and then I cut them into shape each. I ended tapping vintage postcards at the top of the mats as they were not clearly cut out for postcards, and in the end you look great. Then each postcard was between $ 3 and $ 15, and I found them all on eBay.

frame , Gold corner , Music center vintage postcard , Los Felise Vintage Postcard

Then I wanted to make the frame a little more interesting – so I added to these gold corners, which were only $ 10 for a pack of 12. To fill my entire wall, I needed 8 frames – so how much cost here:

    • $ 3- $ 15 per postcard
    • $ 3 per frame
    • $ 3 per mat
    • $ 3 per frame to connect gold corners

So every piece of art + framing spent me between $ 12- $ 24, and after doing mathematics, I spent a total of $ 170 on the entire wall, which is excellent in my opinion, seeing how much space this gallery wall takes! If you are looking for art – I recommend excessively to do it

Leather chair , Living room rug , Beverage table , dining chairs , mirror , Dining room rug , Wallpaper , Coffee table , Chandelier , sconces , Cafe curtains , curtain rod , Curtain rings , White color

Well, as we are wrapping – here is the shot that shows that my living room/specific is in relation to the dining room, just to give a little more reference. I just love this picture – and That mirror So right and bounces light in the best way.

Here is reminiscent of crazy change!

    Dress , Shoes

I am there! I just wanted to thank everyone for taking time out to read and see all the pictures. And if you saw that my other people also know, then thank you! The world means to do this and I am very appreciated. Meet in comments !!
