This entry is not the notorious family drop zone, which just makes me so happy. I really love how the architect, Anne AshurThe layout of this house was designed. There are two external entrances that carry mudums (garage stairs and edges of the house), allowing the entry of the front door to be beautiful, spacious and dislocated. This is such a dream.
As a reminder, this entrance is a waterfall of broad concrete landing and exterior stairs, and once you can move the forewad to the living/dining/kitchen area, cut or cut on the right to the right in the game room/library and cut the left and see this sweet sitting area under the railway. But there was a lot of designing on the way.

It was a ladder a few years ago, before I also thought it should look what it should look. Katie knew that she wanted wood (as opposite to metal or glass), but where should it start and stop? And how does it integrate with railing with landing above?

At this point, they were still on the budget that some super Bispok was not on the table – this time there is no complex carving or welding, which was fine because this house means being simple in its finish, more generous in its style.

We chose 2 × 2 from white oak wood, installed vertically with a simple railing with the top. We thought that it would not break the budget nor create architectural interest, dimensions and shadow lines during the builder-grade.

I remember that we had to stop vertical wood to float an inch (or less) above the floor, due to time – it had to go before the floor and therefore the stairs could be installed. But the exact measurement (height) was a bit unknown and God did not do if they were not at all flat/uniform which would have a huge pain in A, so they wanted to give some space as a buffer to the trim piece. I knew that for the most part, your eye would not see it and there would be furniture here, so I was fine with it. I also did not want this decision to maintain the rest of the construction, which needed to be in a specific order. Designers can catch things famously, especially when we are so myopic and are obsessed with the details that honestly matters hardly (I have learned this lesson every project and will be possible for the rest of my life, but it is possible for me to be less completeist in my brother’s house, lol).

I am going to the stairs (from cedar and moss) with those wooden wall washers, and when I love the schoolhouse flushmounts on the roof, we were always to switch to bulbs to grow up. they’re too small!

The railing continues the stairs on the second floor landing that opens to all the bedrooms. I love how it combines a lot, just with a material.

Chandelier
There is a big chandelier from here School -houseWe needed a lot of bulbs and something really largely, without expensive or very ornate. Amber glass is calm and beautiful.

I do not remember honestly where I ended and Maximum Started at some of these design decisions (or vice versa), but I know they helped to prevent some measurements – when I got super trapped in super mode, she is excellent in making decisions.

I really love how it came out. It is just so striking and simple. Sierra Custom Construction It was actually executed well, and honestly, it is very perfect for the house as a whole. This is really strong and strong (the greatest worry of Kane), while visually really powerful.
Paintings from the stairs are nominated by a local artist Anna vonrosenstaleWhat I got urban (A portland mall with both vintage and manufacturer). I could not believe that they are in fact, the shape, color, style, movement, scale, value, and the fact that we can go above the stairs, actually closed the entire look.

Light and shadow give it so much movement and texture, not to mention the “striped” pattern that packs a large design punch.

I did not plan for a couch to go here, but we had it from our new collection, AliceIt found its house. Ken and Katie, like me, are usually afraid of a light colored sofa, but it is really just a pass-through space and visually important is really important (you can see it with so many rooms), but very little functional use is made, so it was really the right place to put something beautiful. Originally, I thought I would keep a round entry table with a dope lamp or perhaps under a huge tree with a huge tree, but once we put it here, we realized that it was perfect. Again, they have a mudom as their drop-zone entry, but for guests, they can completely throw their coats for meetings here, so it actually serves a purpose.

Brown It was really the best step (this is not the highest quality, but it is very inexpensive and perfect in color, shape and size, so they have placed it here). The plant breaks stripes with some organic and asymmetrical. And from January, Katie has kept it alive with only mid-level daily fear that she will kill it. (Important, excellent impure house plants/trees that I bought for him after Realizing how much stress this real plant caused – I find great threats, I promise).

This color of the rug is actually forgiving (getting brown), and a rectangular rug must have really cut the space (and no rug felt unhappy). Once we put it down, it immediately created a feeling of a “room”, even if it is just a pass-through space. It warmed it to a ton.
Front door

They have chosen all glass and white oak front door and side lights (which have come to regret them, in fact, for privacy reasons), but they are sure that they are very beautiful, you do not want your Amazon delivery friends to friends in your morning (so they can add a film on it). Actually there was not much space for an entry table (we could still add a very narrow on the right white wall), but we needed Some? To make it feel special.

Search This rug It was a clutch. We keep a large mat out where you wipe your shoes, but I really felt that it should be a special rug because this is the first thing you see walking to the house, and really invite you. But what size? And do you place it horizontally or with more vertical doors with the door? I bought two of these green scallop rags from West Elm in the hope of making a long rug, and it looked great in shots. But that day I realized that if we had 3 of them, it would actually serve as a long corridor rug, which would lead people to the river view and lead in the living/kitchen area. like so:

I am very dangerous with it. Katie received a sticky rug pad (which would cost hundreds and take a few weeks), instead of dealing with them together with sewing them together), and she swear that it is fine 🙂 You can meet a secret of the living room and dining room, and I can’t wait to show you the rest of the house in a few weeks.

The first impression is very dangerous. And being that mid-tone green, it is really forgiven (vs. a light rug). I could not believe that I sold them that vintage swedish oil still painting life. Certainly, technically it was not a house currently in my house, but I like it very much (don’t worry, I am charging them a lot, lol). The colors look very beautiful here, and it makes a lot of attention and admirers, which is important for this approach 🙂

When you walk, the entire vibe is honestly so hot, welcome and exciting. The green rug takes you directly to the main living place, and you think that I think is my favorite room at home – game room. Anne Ashra, Architect, a great thanks to Max Humphri, who helped make a lot of design decisions for home building, and Sierra Custom Building. To come soon 🙂
