Here’s the deal. There’s really never a bad time to buy home decor and furniture. When you are ready and able to invest, you should do so because the sooner you make your home yours, the better. However, there is no better time to buy these wonderful things, and that is when they are on sale, because why not save money on those pieces you were buying or considering buying if you can? enter Wayfair Way Day (10/26 – 10/29). This is their biggest sale of the season, where they offer up to 80% off and free shipping. I dare say, it is best Time to buy home decor (not to mention, it’s the perfect time for the holidays).

So with all this in mind, I know most of you would want to avoid creating a living room that looks like it could belong to anyone. You also want interesting, well-made pieces that feel a little unexpected at the same time, and that’s what I’m going to talk about today. I’m showing you five non-typical living room design mood boards that I created to act as exciting jumping-off points. And because we love and know its quality our room service sofaObviously, I picked five of them for this post (they’re also on sale!!). They were designed as sofas that would be comfortable, useful for everyday life, but with the design of much more expensive sofas. These babies are meant to turn heads and impress visiting friends and family. Let’s start with the first combo.

The first mood board I’ll talk you through is a more organic, modern traditional style. I took some notes from Emily’s brother’s river house family room because look how beautiful and cozy it is?!

Now, I chose the brown velvet fabric, and I wanted to show you a better picture of it before I see the renders. This is seriously one of my favorites in the collection. You can even order a sample to see it in person before you buy! We decided to edit the overall design to make it much better, that’s why it looks different 🙂

Chirag , sectional , coffee table , rug , accent chair , media console

see what I mean? All the lines of the pieces are clean and modern, but the shape Chirag, Chairand pattern of rug Are traditional. Greens, browns, and different woods give it an organic feel, and nothing is too mismatched. Even the green tones are diverse! I also want to point out the important style choice to visually mix bottom-heavy pieces with less visible top-heavy pieces. sectional And coffee table (and the lamps in a way) are flat on the ground, and the bulk of the visual weight is at the bottom. Then accent chair and media console They have space at their feet and below them, with their visual weight at the top. It’s a nice balance that your eyes will appreciate in the space. Add any family heirlooms if you have them, and a few more decorations (of which Wayfair has plenty), and you’re set.

Chirag , couch , coffee tables , rug , accent swivel chair , wardrobe

Same colors as before, but a very different vibe! you can recognize This beautiful (and comfortable) sofa From the opening photo because the two of them are now living in Emily’s own living room! With this design, I went a little more sophisticated, traditional, but still comfortable. To reduce visible weight and contrast the style of the sofa, I chose this These two coffee tablesThen, to talk about the shape of the sofa and the curves of the swivel chair, I chose that beautiful cabinet. The two-tone is really pretty, and I love that there’s both open and closed storage for whatever items you might have picked up during your trip?? Just saying 🙂 in the pattern rug Also speaks to the lines on the coffee table. Finally, to keep the house going in traditional style, I chose that very comfortable looking swivel wingback chair (also nice to be able to face the sofa and then turn towards the TV, if applicable :)) and that fabulous gold lamp.

Chirag , sectional , coffee table , rug , accent chair , media console

Well, we’re just done with the green and neutral green woods, and are bringing in some blues and warmer woods! that sectional The (Milo) is amazing, and you can park the car on either side (it even comes inside). a single sofaIts extra thick legs keep it spacious but also work very well thick coffee tableaccent chair, and media console. But then, just to make sure there’s a little extra light piece, that lamp very beautiful, and rug There is so much movement and color. You may have heard me talking about that chair And the sofa below because they’re my babies 🙂 They were my first real design of this collection, and if I had room for them (or at least this chair) in my house, they’d be here in a second. Oh and That “media console” There are actually three pieces next to each other (and sold separately). Obviously, it’s modular, so you can stack as much as you want!

Chirag , couch , coffee table , rug , accent swivel chair (Set of 2) | media console

What could be more joyful and fun than this? a pink sofaIt’s actually a slightly softer, dusty pink in person. We were very specific in choosing the most beautiful and most versatile tones. Again, with this living room design, there is a nice balance of curves and offset linear geometry. couch, oval coffee tableAnd revolving chairs (Yes, it’s a set of two!) falls into the curve category, while rug, media consoleAnd Chirag Are (in a way) very linear. I love that both the rug and the console have this “not perfect” geometric pattern. This seems very refreshing to me. Don’t you think there is also a good balance of top and bottom visual weight distribution? It’s a little modern with a touch of traditional and neutrality, but with an exciting yet cool pop of color.

Chirag , couch , coffee table , rug , accent swivel chair , media console

Here’s the final design with the crowd favorite sofa…oscarEmily has coined this as “the most sinkable” in the collection, and she’s right. All sofas are comfortable (we wouldn’t design/sell ones that weren’t), but this is the one you’ll really sink into. It’s so amazing, and that blue velvet is amazing. This living room design was also inspired by the Emily Room of yesteryear. blue sofa and cow hide rug The major callbacks are, IYKYK. She also says that cowhide is extremely easy to clean and it was the best rug when her children were little. Mid-century modern style is a heavy influence here with that beauty media console, brass lampand color of swivel chairWhat I’ve been talking about this entire post is that the balance of visual weight on the top and bottom is a little off, but the coffee table is so heavy that it’s right in the middle.

So these are our little guides to creating the basis for a really great, non-ordinary living room. Again, if you need some furniture and/decoration for somewhere in your home, way day Don’t miss. They have great sales (up to 80%), and with free shipping, that’s no easy feat. Remember, this is only until the 29th! Happy shopping 🙂

I love you, it means it.
