happy Sunday everyone. Last weekend was devastating, as many feel. While we spent the entire week getting ready for our big break (and making sure you all were still getting fun content), it was hard for us not to feel weighed down. If anything, really hold tight to your loved ones, but at the same time, we desperately need gun reform. It feels beyond cruel that nothing has changed in America, and on top of real reform, we need our leaders to promote true anti-discrimination in all forms and for all people, especially our marginalized communities and neighbors. Hate sometimes gives birth to hatred. This is the only way to move forward with a sense of security and hope. The least we can all do right now is spread as much love and community as we can. Okay, here are our links for this week.
This week’s home tour We are sure you have seen it all, but this one is our favorite considering its beauty and designer look, Heidi CallierWe think it deserves to be celebrated even more! This mountain home owned by Kendall Jenner is full of pattern, color, deep wood tones, and a lot of soul. Check it out here,
From Emily: Two must-see shows. I know you’re all in the midst of holiday movies (Elliot and I are watching them on repeat through the Christmas Switch at the moment), but Brian and I also watched some adult shows. Y’all, if you haven’t seen it normal people (On Hulu) When it came out a few years ago, you should have come. This is Brian and I’s second time because we loved it so much. It is a romance series starring Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones based on the best-selling novel by Sally Rooney. It follows them from high school students to college and a lot of heavy life stuff, and it’s 10/10 in acting, directing, writing, and chemistry. if you liked one dayYou’ll like it (I think it’s better). But if you want a domestic thriller, watch animal in me (on Netflix) with Claire Danes and Michael Rice. Oh God. It is very thrilling with extraordinary performance. It’s in domestic thriller territory, starring rich people acting poorly, but the twists and turns are extraordinary. We watched this during our little vacation a few weeks ago, and I’m sad it’s over.
From Marley: Well, this is one of the best inventions ever – in the past, I thought these were gimmicky and probably didn’t work, but after trying one, it quickly became a must-have. this is one of them headache cap Which you can keep in the freezer and pull it up to your eyes. Last year, I bought one to give as a gift to a white elephant (like a joke?), but there was a fight over it, and my friend who brought it loved it. Since then, my roommate has one that she lets me use, and it’s truly life changing. Whenever I have a headache, I dab it and it provides instant relief. 10/10 invention. This would make a great stocking stuffer 🙂
From Gretchen: I didn’t do much shopping on Black Friday this year, but I took advantage of the Levi’s sale and bought 4 pairs of jeans for myself—knowing I’d probably return at least two pairs. Well, unfortunately, three of the four pairs didn’t fit at all (simply because they were too small. When I go to return them, I’m going to size up and see how I like the fit). But the fourth pair might be my new favorite pants! they are a Lightweight leopard print jean in “baggy dad” styleBut see more of how I want barrel style jeans to look on me. They run a little big (I think I’m probably a 31 in Levi’s, but I tried these in a 30 and they were perfect). They have a 30″ inseam and fit my ankles perfectly. I love the baggy look with this more stylish print. It makes me feel like I’m putting effort into my outfit, without sacrificing comfort. At the time of writing this, they are on sale again!
From Mallory: If you don’t already know, I really love Christmas, and like Emily, I’m a little obsessed with ornaments. I love gifting personalized jewelery to family and friends so this year I gifted This one To my roommate, Jade (for whom I’ve changed the wording a bit since this isn’t our first Christmas as roommates) and then I got This custom pet embroidery Ornaments for my sister and her husband Tom (who got a new puppy this year) and then it turned into getting an ornament for my parents’ dogs and my boyfriend’s parents’ dog too. I know it’s after Christmas, but I honestly recommend ordering these in advance so you can have them early this year 🙂
From Jess: Last week I talked my perfect sweaterAnd this week it’s everything my new shoes🙂 I was Christmas shopping last weekend and decided to go to one of my favorite little new shops in Highland Park when two became one: Intentionally Empty x Ririku. I’ve talked a lot about Intentionally Blank because they’re one of my favorite shoe brands. Anyway, I’ll be in NYC for the holidays and I thought, as long as it’s not snowing, I could easily wear these incredible burgundy cowboy boots since my only other walking shoe is basically a rain boot. My puffer coat may be from 2013, but my shoes are from 2025! They make me feel very, very good.
From Arlin: I’ve been eyeing a pair of Rothy’s for quite some time, but the price always seemed a little high compared to a ballet flat. so when i saw the couple i liked (These are burgundy with little brass studs) were on sale for $89, I picked these up faster than turning your back to toast burning in the air fryer. I had a bit of a size problem the first time through; The description says the size is true, but I found it didn’t fit me right. I placed 8th, but 8th place in the class Mary Janes was very tight. Maybe if I had a narrower foot. The exchange process was extremely easy and quick, and the 8.5 turned out to be perfect for me. Since they arrived on Thursday, I’ve worn them every day, and they make all of my lazy mom outfits look even more fabulous! Some colors are still on sale, so run!
Thank you for spending some time with us, and for those of you celebrating Christmas, we hope you have a very Merry Christmas. But see you tomorrow too xx
