About Pizza Dosa
Pizza Dosa is basically a thick dosa or uttapam style base topped with vegetables, sauce and cheese. The dosa batter acts as a base and gives a soft texture on the inside with a crispy bottom. It is cooked slowly so that the toppings get cooked properly. This recipe is very suitable for beginners too.
The taste of this recipe is cheesy, slightly spicy and very tasty. The vegetables add a nice crunch while the cheese melts and binds everything together. The sauce gives a tangy flavor which goes great with the dosa base. It tastes best when served hot or warm, a great way to make dosa more interesting for kids.

Pizza Dosa Ingredients
- Dosa Batter – Take slightly thick batter. I used this as a base. It should be a little thick so that the toppings stick well to it. Thin batter will spread too much.
- Capsicum – I have used chopped capsicum for crunch and color. It gives good bite. You can use any color of capsicum.
- Onion – I used it for flavor and sweetness. Its taste increases when roasted. If you don’t like it you can leave.
- sweet corn – I used it for mild sweetness. Children usually like it. You can also take cheese instead.
- pizza sauce – I have used readymade pizza sauce. It gives spicy taste. You can also use pasta sauce.
- Cheese – I have used grated cheese for topping. It melts well and makes it more filling. If you like the taste of cheese, you can add more.
- Oil – I have used it to cook dosa. This helps in cooking the dosa evenly. You can also use butter.
- chilli pieces – I added it for mild spice. Add as per taste.
- oregano – I have used oregano to flavor the pizza. It gives good fragrance from above.

Expert Tips
- Consistency of Dosa Batter – I always keep the batter thick. If the batter is thin then the dosa will spread too much and the toppings may fall off.
- cooking flame – I cook on low to medium flame only. High flame may burn the base before the cheese melts properly.
- roasting vegetables – I usually fry the onion and capsicum lightly. This helps them cook faster on the dosa.
- cover and cook – I add toppings to it, cover it and cook it. This helps the cheese to melt evenly.
- don’t spread – I just pour the batter and let it spread on its own. Due to this it remains thick like Uttapam.
serving and storage
Serve it hot on the pan. This recipe tastes hot when the paneer is sticky. You can also cut them into wedges and serve with ketchup. It is best to eat it fresh. Storage is not recommended as the dosa becomes soggy.
