Chicken with pasta is a great combination, that too full of spices and herbs, tastes great. I don’t like pasta but kids love it. I can eat spicy pasta with red sauce, so this is one pasta I also eat with gusto. So I created this recipe to satisfy my hunger and since then it has become a favorite of our family too.

About Chicken Pasta
Chicken pasta with red sauce is a comforting, extremely flavorful dish made by marinating tender pieces of chicken in a rich, tomato-based sauce and combining it with perfectly cooked pasta. This is such a delicious, aromatic and comforting dish that you can make anytime.
The chicken is sautéed until juicy and lightly golden, then coated in a tangy, slightly sweet sauce that pairs beautifully with the pasta. This chicken pasta is my attempt at making an easy pasta full of spices and herbs. I love spicy pasta dishes and this suits my taste perfectly. It was spicy with plenty of flavor, delicious!
Red sauce forms the base of this dish, you can use homemade pasta sauce or store bought sauce, but make sure to use a thick sauce so that the pasta becomes creamy and rich. Adding a little cream takes this recipe to the next level.
The cooked chicken pairs perfectly with the velvety sauce and makes this pasta dish nutritious and comforting. You can finish it off by garnishing with grated cheese or fresh chopped green onions. I have not added cheese to make it lighter, but if you wish, you can serve it with grated Parmesan cheese.

Chicken Pasta Ingredients
- pasta – You can use any variety of pasta like macaroni, penne, fusilli etc. I used the penne pasta variety.
- Cock– Use chicken breast which is best for this pasta as it cooks fast and is juicy, clinging well to the sauce.
- garlic powder -Added for aroma and flavor.
- Red Chilli Powder, Paprika – Added for spice and heat. You can also add chilli pieces instead of red capsicum.
- freshly ground black pepper – Adds great flavor and spice.
- Mixed herbs – added for flavor, aroma and taste. Don’t miss it.
- pasta sauce – Use thick pasta sauce for best taste.
- Garlic -Adds a taste to pasta dish.
- green onion – The stem part is added while roasting and the green part is added at the last stage. You can also use regular onion.
- Cream – Use fresh cream to thicken the sauce and make it velvety and smooth.
- Oil -You can use regular cooking oil or olive oil.

How to make chicken pasta step by step
1. In a bowl, cut 100 grams of breast chicken into small pieces. Add 1 teaspoon garlic powder, ½ teaspoon black pepper powder, ½ teaspoon red chili powder and salt as per taste.

2. Mix it well and keep aside.

3.Boil about 4 cups of water in a saucepan. Add salt as per taste and a few drops of oil.

4. Add 1 cup penne pasta.

5. Mix it well and let it cook on medium flame.

6. Cook until fork tender.

7. Drain in a strainer, rinse with cold water to stop further cooking – keep aside.

8. Heat 1 ½ tbsp oil – add 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic, fry till golden.

9. Add 2 tbsp spring onion stalks and sauté for a minute.

10. Add marinated chicken.

11. Fry it for a few minutes until it becomes soft and cooked. Chicken bread cooks quickly and takes just 3-5 minutes to cook.

12. Add 3 tbsp thick pasta sauce with ½ cup water. Mix quickly.

13.Mix well and add 1 teaspoon paprika and 1 teaspoon mixed herbs. Adjust water according to the thickness of the pasta sauce. Mix quickly and cook on low flame for a minute.

14. Add 2 tbsp fresh cream. Add salt as per taste.

15.Mix well and then add the cooked pasta.

16. Mix vigorously until the sauce completely coats the pasta. Finally add 2 tablespoons green onions, mix quickly and turn off.

serve hot!

Expert Tips
- pasta – I have used penne pasta variety, you can choose your favorite. Macaroni and fusilli will also work.
- Onion – If you want, finely chop 1 big onion and add garlic and fry it.
- spice level – It is a little spicy so adjust the spice level as per your taste.
- Sauce – Do not make the sauce too thick, it will become too dry and will not coat the pasta. Pasta with spices should be juicy, not dry.
- Cock – Cut the chicken into small pieces so that it cooks quickly and the spices get mixed in easily. Cooking the chicken with the sauce gives the chicken good flavor and juice and gives the pasta the chicken flavor.
- store – If you are cooking chicken separately without spices, then use chicken stock to cook pasta.
serving and storage
Serve it hot as is or with toasted bread. I would recommend consuming it fresh. If you want to store, you can cook the pasta and make sauce and store both separately in the refrigerator. When you want to serve, you can toss both and serve hot.

1. What type of pasta works best?
Small pastas like penne, fusilli, macaroni and rigatoni work best as they hold the sauce well so I would recommend adding them. But if you want, you can try other pasta varieties as well.
2.Can I use store bought pasta sauce?
Yes, you can use store bought pasta sauce, make sure you buy good quality thick sauce. Alternatively you can also use home made pasta sauce.
3.How do I cook chicken soft and juicy?
Cook the chicken on medium flame and avoid overcooking. Choose breast side up for the best soft and juicy chicken.
4. Can I make this recipe without chicken?
Absolutely. For a vegetarian version you can use vegetables like mushrooms, bell peppers, zucchini, or broccoli in place of the chicken.
9. Is it mandatory to add cream?
Yes, adding a little fresh cream or milk turns it into creamy red sauce pasta with a smooth texture.
