My motto for the last 16 years has been “Style, Play Every Day.” It’s all about empowering, or allowing, yourself to have fun in your home decor by trying new things and moving things from room to room without worrying about feeling “finished” or perfect. I listen to a lot of psychology podcasts about how important it is to align your mood with your surroundings. The mix of your emotions in your home can have a huge impact on your life, long term (and your family’s well-being). And with the launch of I Used to Do This When Restyling Your Mantel or Coffee Table My Sofa Collection, Room ServiceI started trying out different sofas in my living room for different moods, occasions or seasons. And its benefits on my life (and my marriage) have been remarkable. In fact, it’s so incredible that we’re launching a membership program exclusively for blog readers to join our “Sofa of the Month” club.
how it works
It’s simple: Your living room, four sofas, are delivered four times a year. You become a member, and each season you will receive that season’s sofa from our Room Service collection (additional FAQs below). You will select the size and configuration within the appropriate color palette. And we will arrange delivery of white gloves to your door on time for that season.
After three months, you will receive the next sofa, in the next season’s color. Then it’s your responsibility/pleasure to style the rest of the room to coordinate with that sofa (we have plenty of blog articles to help). If this immediately repels you, it probably doesn’t for you, but for the rest of us who crave change frequently, that dopamine hit you get from trying something new, so I consider it a gift, a real weekend privilege. This is the perfect excuse to cancel all your plans, turn on a podcast or music, and go styling (pro tip: I find white wine helps take it to the next creative level).
Spring: pastels inspired by spring flowers

We’re launching this in the spring, so naturally, this is the first sofa color palette you’ll receive. For this, you can choose between us Two “Barb” sofasEither the light sea blue velvet or the pink velvet – my two favorites that I’m sitting on right now. They both feel refreshed, happy and perfect for coming out of winter hibernation. Although this program is just one sofa, you can upgrade your membership to get both for an additional $2,500 fee (including white glove service).
Summer: Fresh, clear, bright and breezy

It’s Cream Milo Sectional We had a lot of your favorites in our living room, and with good reason. I love how it keeps the room so bright and light with just a simple shape. Although I didn’t style with “summer colors,” I would definitely suggest bringing in more teals, bright pinks, and happy yellows.
When to Expect: Memorial Day weekend (to give you a long weekend to decorate).
Fall: Our Hot Rusty Otto

To fall, you will get Our Otto Sofa In the warmest, coziest rust velvet. Shown here in 84″, but it also comes in 108″ (this is the charcoal sofa in the living room of my brother’s river house). I actually find this color to be such an easy neutral to mix with a lot of the other colors I love (as you can see above – great with blues, greens and browns), but think mustard, eggplant and navy for fall. And definitely light that fire.
When to Expect: August 15th ideally corresponds to the first week of school for any of you moms out there (one of the quietest weeks of the year, right? When you’re free to spend some alone time decorating the house).
Winter: Forest Green Alice

Now in winter, you will get the perfect tone of forest green velvet to celebrate Christmas. Now, if you are part of the first membership tier, you will only get one alice sofaBut still, if you want to arrange them facing each other like us you can upgrade to get two matching aisles.
When to Expect: It will arrive early in mid-November, so you’ll have time to incorporate it into your holiday Christmas decorations. Consider this a Christmas gift from me to you (okay, you’re paying for it, so it’s more of a purchase than a gift, but ’tis the time of celebration).

Question: How will it happen? Do I get my own sofa? Will they deliver to curbside or indoors?
A: Your sofa will be placed exactly where you want it inside your home.
Q: Who will deliver the sofa?
A: Brian. One unexpected result of the sofa line stored in our garage was that my husband, Brian, realized that it was his dream job to come into someone’s house and rearrange their furniture unnecessarily. He especially likes it when you look at it for a while after putting it on, then change your mind and ask him to take it off. Repeat the process 3-4 times to see a level of happiness on a person’s face that you will probably never see again. Don’t call it a job, it’s his calling.
Q: How much is a Sofa of the Month membership?
A: Our inaugural “Four Seasonal Sofa Package” will total $9,999, which is just under $2500 for each sofa, including free White Glove Bryan delivery.
Q: Can I upgrade to a monthly subscription? I need more couches!
A: Of course, not yet. As we design more sofas, we’ll introduce more month-specific colors, so hopefully this will launch in 2027 (red for December, true orange for October, blue for July, you get it). Email: [email protected] To get on the waiting list.
Question: What do I do with my first sofa when my next one arrives?
A: I suggest storing sofas, perhaps building a sofa-specific garage on your property (see ours here for inspiration). If you would like Brian to come back and help you rearrange your garage to accommodate your next couch, this can be arranged for an additional mood-based fee. Again, remember that not knowing Absolutely Where do you want to take it – your mid-lift indecision will bring the biggest smile to his face. He will do this shirtless upon request (highly recommended).
