About Ginger Shots
Ginger shots are concentrated drinks prepared by mixing fresh ginger with lemon juice and a little sweetener. It’s not like regular juice that you drink in big glasses, ginger shots are served in small glasses only.
It is named ‘Ginger Shots’ because it is usually served in a shot glass. It is taken in small quantities as its taste is strong and spicy so it is usually served in 30-60 ml glasses.
Ginger is great for digestive and anti-inflammatory problems. It just helps improve digestion and can support immunity when taken regularly. Lemon adds vitamin C and gives the drink a bright taste. Together it becomes a simple yet powerful health drink to drink.
The texture is a bit thick and dense because very little water has been added. You can drink it with the pulp to get more fiber and additional benefits for your body, but I usually serve it strained.
You can adjust the sweetness and spice as per your preference. It is very flexible and easy to customize however you want. You can also use orange juice or gooseberry juice for health benefits.
I usually prepare small batches and store in the fridge for a day or two. In the morning I just shake and pour into small glasses. It instantly awakens the senses.

Ginger Shots Ingredients
- Ginger – I used fresh ginger for the strong spicy flavor and heat, choose fresh and firm ginger for best results. This gives the shots a nice heat and strong flavor.
- Lemon – I just squeezed it for the sourness and freshness. It balances the spices and adds Vitamin C, you can adjust it as per your taste.
- Honey – I added it for natural sweetness. This reduces the spiciness of the ginger and makes it a little smoother, you can also use maple syrup if needed.
- freshly ground black pepper – I used it for extra heat and spice. It gives a slight kick at the end and makes it more robust, you can reduce it if you want a less spicy taste.
