- peanut butter – I used it to add flavor and binding. This makes the bars a little creamier. You can use chunky or smooth.
- Brown sugar – It is used for sweetness and sticky texture. This helps the bars maintain their shape. You can also use regular sugar.
- Honey – Honey increases sweetness and helps in binding. It also gives a slight chewiness. If you want less sweetness then you can reduce it a little.

How to Make Granola Bars Recipe Step by Step
1. Take rolled oats in a pan and fry it on low flame for 5 minutes. Transfer to a mixing bowl. Add rice crisps in it.


2.Crush the M&M candy and add in (save some for topping). I crushed using my chapatti roller.


3.Give a quick mix and keep aside. – Take butter in a pan, add brown sugar in it


4. Add honey, then add peanut butter


5.Heat it until it melts. Cook on low flame till bubbles appear, now add oats mixture into it.


6.I forgot to add vanilla essence so added it at this stage. Stir vigorously, add chopped nuts.


7. Mix well until everything is well combined. Pour the mixture into a tin, level it using the back of a spoon.


8. Sprinkle with remaining M&M candies and press it down. Keep it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. I used aluminum foil for easier molding. Carefully remove it from the tin. Cut into small pieces and enjoy.


Serve as a snack or breakfast bar.
