happy Sunday everyone. As you may have noticed, whether it’s gift guides or our Christmas decorating hack posts on Friday, we’re really getting into the holiday spirit. And you can bet there are shootings happening, so get ready for them. ok link? Great.
This week’s home tour Have a nice, modern, exciting home! So many interesting options you just have to take a look π
From Emily: It’s time for the proper aisle sweater (adjacent to the holiday sweater, and a great option for more than just festive occasions). i bought This oneIt’s warm, soft, and the color is so beautiful. To dress it up I paired it with a mini skirt and tall boots, and then of course with sweats for around the house. It looks luxurious and high-end, much more than the price suggests.
From Arlin: Is it just me, or is the quality of everything getting worse and worse? I used to buy my kid’s entire wardrobe from Target, which I thought was good quality for the price, but then I moved to Old Navy and Carter’s, and the quality is OK on most things (especially t-shirts…meh). But I recently ordered some cold weather essentials from this name brand primaryAnd I was stunned by the quality. Sure, it’s a little more expensive, so it should be a long-wearing item, but there’s currently a 40% off site-wide cyber sale going on, and now’s the time to grab everything. i especially loved them where jogging, puffer, zippy hoodieAnd long sleeve teesHonestly, I wanted it all for myself because it was so soft and well made!
From Jess: Nice, little brand alert! So I came across this streetwear clothing brand named Salt StudioAnd I immediately loved how fresh it felt. The color palette is muted, the shapes are luxurious and oversized, and everything is beautifully unisex. I signed up for SMS messages so I could be the first to see their new drops, and I’m so glad I did. i bought these track sweatpants And maybe never felt cold? Laugh out loud. I would size down as they are really oversized, unless you want that look. I think something from this brand would make a great gift for someone in your life who has this style or who loves to indulge (like me :)). Plus, you’ll feel great knowing about them. The colorway I got is pretty much sold out, but I like it inVery.
From Kaitlyn: If you’ve been reading the blog for long, you know this he should run This is an organization that is near and dear to my heart. They are a national and non-partisan group that helps women run for everything from local school boards to the Senate. If you’ve felt pessimistic about the direction of our country this past year, please consider checking out his 12-week local leader incubatorThey are currently grouping for 2026; You’ll leave with a detailed plan for helping solve a problem in your community (plus, it’s a low-risk way to determine if politics is right for you,). We need more women at all levels of government β ββand that means All Kind of ladies, so please don’t count yourself out! You are worth more than you know, and you have the power to better your community. I will gladly volunteer my support for any of your campaigns π
Also from Caitlin: Really enjoyed this piece. Marion Mahoney GriffinShe was one of the first licensed female architects in America (in fact the first in Illinois,) and was Frank Lloyd Wright’s first employee. I’ve been obsessed with Wright since fourth grade (when I did a report on Fallingwater, and dressed up like him to present to my class β yes, I was a weirdo), but I wasn’t familiar with Griffin’s influences on all those iconic buildings, It’s a fun, easy read about a cool woman – check it out.
From Mallory: Guys! Our good friend Ajay launches a new home decor brand Cadbury HomeYou guys have to check out her adorable tea towels β I love the ones with the little ruffles. Be sure to follow her new brand as well here on instagram(PS, these would make the best holiday gift).
From Marli: This week, I received the following text in a group chat: “What’s your staple winter shoe that goes with everything. Aka what’s the go-to winter flip flop?” It didn’t take much debate for everyone to agree that winter flip-flops are the garden hitβthey’re slip-on-and-go, work with basically any outfit, and they’re waterproof. Obviously, they’re not ideal for *snowy* conditions, or heavy rain, but if you’re walking around town and it’s a little wet, they do a great job of keeping your feet dry. As a clog girl, I have 2 absolute favorite pairs, as well as 2 pairs I would recommend because all my garden-clog-rocking friends have them (the only reason I don’t have them is because no one needs more than 2 pairs of garden clogs…or they do). my favorite everyday pair this couple – They’re fairly low profile, with a little height (not great for treacherous ground, I would say! You might twist your ankle!!) and are very, very comfortable. I have them in black, but I’ve been eyeing the oxblood color for a while. My almost every day pair Super-Birkie by Birkenstock A very fun powder blue color that seems to be coming off. I’ve had these for at least 4 years now, and they’re in great shape. I get tons of compliments on these, and my favorite way to wear them is with a super neutral outfit, with my shoes serving as my favorite color. They’re very comfortable and great for long periods of time on your feet (I hear nurses and food-service workers love them!). Well, the rapid fire of Rex my friends: These piles of recycled hempWhich are still slip-on but seem to be a little safer for your feet than my other Rex. and this ugg tasman blocked (there is also this color On Nordstrom Rack!) These come with a matching sock that you can pull out of the shoe – these are definitely a funky look but in the best way!!!! They are so much fun. You’re either a person who creates interruptions or you don’t – if you’re on the fence, try something!
From Gretchen: This week, I did something pretty ridiculous to myself, maybe even embarrassing, but it sparked a little joy in me, so I think it’s worth sharing. One of my all-time favorite movies, from when I was a kid Spice WorldThere’s Something in the Air that has me dying to watch it again, but unfortunately, this is one of the few movies that is not available on any streaming platform, If you’re familiar with this cinematic masterpiece and worship it like I do, congratulations! You are one of the chosen girl power! If you’ve seen this movie and your eyes are rolling just now thinking about it, I forgive you, And if you haven’t been introduced yet and are curious to learn more, here’s how to see it for yourself: Buy a physical DVD copy of the film And Buy an inexpensive but functional (small and simple) DVD player. I did this and couldn’t be happier. Sure, it’s a little more expensive than purchasing/downloading the movie (if you even have that option). But there’s something about seeing this “old school” player in my house, knowing it’s loaded with my favorite cozy movie, ready to play at any time, that makes me giddy. The world is feeling very heavy, and it was a silly, (relatively) small purchase that brought some lightness into my home. The player is not attractive. Extra small so it’s not an eyesore. It works as intended. But it’s great to be able to watch this movie whenever I feel like it! It is certain that this is what my child would have spent his money on.
Thanks for spending time with us today, and see you all tomorrow for another great post π xx
