happy Sunday everyone. First and foremost, we want to say how grateful we are that there are judges who are fighting against snatching. essential programs From people in real need. However, that doesn’t mean the people and organizations serving those communities don’t still need a lot of help, especially since SNAP benefits can be heavily negatively impacted. Thankfully there are lots of wonderful organizations to donate to. Emily will talk about a person close to her heart, and here’s another one In Kansas City. Please write in the comments who you know and trust! Figuring out how to balance content that gives you freedom from all the atrocities that happen and talking about them is not something we have mastered. But as we head into the holiday season, where there’s so much spending and consumption (and heavy promotion to do so, we know we’re a part of it too), consider how we can help our neighbors – locally, nationally, and globally.

This week’s home tour It’s both magical and feels like real life is happening there. A wonderful old house among the California redwoods. Seeing this beautiful house will reduce your cortisol levels.

From Emily: With SNAP benefits possibly ending (at the time of writing, it was scheduled to end on November 1), I wanted to personally recommend a resource for those who are in a position to help others. Family Promise of the Tualatin Valley is the family shelter we partner with here, and they house 100 families who are all facing extreme economic challenges (not to mention trauma). They’re asking for donations to help replenish SNAP benefits. They are a great organization and will accept any amount (all year long, actually), so if you feel like you don’t know where to give or how to help, I can personally vouch for them. You can donate here,

From Jess: If you like the idea of a lip stain, but you want a glossy look, do I have a suggestion for you! after seeing This hydrating lip stain From my friend VIOLETTE_FR, I knew I needed mine. I got the shade Betiz, which is described as “warm berry”. It’s very beautiful, and you can go for a lighter color or apply more applications for a darker color. It feels amazing, and I don’t have to worry about my lips drying out. 1000/10

From Arlin: My sweatshirt game has been a bit lacking this fall and winter, but I’ve been slowly improving it. A woman I follow on Instagram posted about This awesome oversized quarter snap sweatshirt From Aerie, and I immediately went and grabbed one. It’s on sale right now (at least it was when I wrote this a few days before you read it), but be sure to Google for other promo codes because I’ve set up an extra 15% off by signing up for the emails. Word of caution: When they say it’s big, they mean it. I’m usually a large/x-large in most tops, and I’m a size medium and wish I’d gotten a small, TBH. My body doesn’t like to wear oversized things because I have a big chest and it looks like I’m wearing a mumu, so keep that in mind.

It’s all about fashion and beauty 🙂 And if you’d like to see more gift ideas from Emily and the team, we’re very proud of our new, highly shoppable gift guide page. We haven’t been posting that many gift guides (we know we all work through them too fast), so instead we spent hours designing and creating this very fun (at least we think so) shopping experience. Check it out and bookmark it because we’ll be adding more as the month goes on and we’ll have even more amazing gift ideas <3

From Mallory: Halloween is over, which means it’s officially Christmas, and yes, I’ve already purchased my first piece of holiday decor. is so cute This tiny A-frame houseIt would also look lovely next to this A-frame house (which looks exactly like a mountain house – M, you need one!!) Also, if you live in Southern California and haven’t been to Rodgers Gardens at Christmas time – put it on your calendar this year. This is absolutely magic!!

From Caitlin: I recently found myself on the East Coast, where you all are experiencing this thing called “Fall.” (For comparison, it was 90 in LA this week.) My only pair of ankle-length pants was no longer able to hold up to your 40-degree temperature, so I caved, went to the mall and grabbed this pair. wide leg pull-on pants From the gap. I’ve broken my self-imposed “shop small or not at all” rule several times this year, but these pants were worth it – they’re 100% cotton, extremely comfortable, easy to adjust, and I think they have good proportions! I’m looking forward to wearing them with my fleece-lined leggings this winter – there’s plenty of room for bundling in these wide legs. Bless all the Gen Z’s who brought back big pants! (PS. Also, the pockets feel bulky. This may not matter to you, but as an often “not a purse, just pockets” type, this is a big green flag to me.)

From Gretchen: I took a few days off to escape to Hawaii (my first time there) and spent it in full vacation mode: sunbathing all day, eating everything in sight, drinking Mai Tais as if they were coming straight from the tap. But I also spent a large part of my time doing some reading. Right before I left, our photographer Caitlin gave me this book, Evelyn Hugo’s seven husbandsAnd said I just have to read it. And I did. I ate most of it in a day and saved the rest for the flight home. This was a lot of fun to read, especially for someone like me who likes to secretly keep up with all the latest gossip headlines – this story is a good reminder that the news media can be (and really always have been) so distorted. I know this book is already pretty popular, but I hadn’t heard of it and I was so excited! A look at many different types of love, a story of heartbreak, Hollywood, and Evelyn’s legacy. I feel like I wish she was a real person so I could dig deeper.

From Marlee: Here in Portland, everyone wears their mother’s shoes – I’ve shared mine curious jasper The first, which have kind of a fun, funky silhouette and come in a ton of colors. I just picked up this pair of them jasper zionic sneakersWhich are a sportier, more classic silhouette. I bought them in this fun blue/grey/white neutral color, but I love the chrome tongue – it makes them so fun, especially with the laces they come with. Both of these shoes are incredibly comfortable and are great for walking around town, walking around the neighborhood, and even hiking. I love that they have a sporty vibe but feel more playful than a typical running shoe. I highly recommend!

Thanks for spending time with us today, and see you tomorrow for the reveal we’ve been waiting to show you. xx
