Y’all, I’ve put a good amount of Etsy gifts on the Home Gift Guide (linked here if you missed it), and I’m happy to report that many of them have now sold out because of you. Seriously, nothing makes me happier than getting an email from an unknown and happy creator after featuring them. So we thought we’d do a whole post about our recent favorite Etsy finds to see if the power of this blog can create some Christmas magic for these artists and anyone who receives their goods.
Handmade Scandi Candle Holder, Maker-made, timeless, seasonless – just a beautiful handmade piece.
ceramic candle snuffer, Why blow out a candle when you can smell it (and leave this style next to it). Especially useful for mantel candles so you don’t spill wax on your wall (true story).
Single Wall Candle Sconce, This would look great as a piece of art, lit or unlit.
cable knit candle, This beautiful matchbox candle is so easy 🙂
striped candlestick holder, How playful, whimsical and fun. Design for people who love colors and patterns.
Wooden Candle Holder Vase Set, A beautiful classic set that can be divided into two parts or given together as a gift.
Reversible Hand Block Quilt, So cute as a folded coverlet under your bed (or over the couch).
Ruffled Linen Pillow, Washed linens in the prettiest colors (and don’t get too “grandma” without being too fussy).
hand knitted woolen coverlet, Such a beautiful color and simple pattern.
Walnut Scallop Cutting Board, It’s the scalloped edge that does it for me. I bought it for myself 🙂
handmade salt cellar, Would look gorgeous next to your range (and made by a small manufacturer).
Scalloped Wood Cookbook Stand, I’m still analog in the kitchen (I don’t like looking at my phone or laptop and keeping the page unlocked). how beautiful it is???
Japanese Salt Cellar, Endlessly obsessed with beautiful things for your countertop, this moody salt cellar (with some Jacobson salt, perhaps?) would be so beautiful in a more contemporary organic kitchen.
Wood End Grain Cutting Board, Wooden, but make it checkered. 10/10
Round Ceramic Butter Dish, My love for butter dishes knows no bounds…get it?…
handmade butter dish, Dark and moody, that loop at the top.
French Butter Keeper, I’m pretty sure if the French do it this way, you should do it too.
European Style Butter Dish, For those who prefer a butter dish that fits larger sticks (like Kerrygold).
Leather + Ceramic Trinket Box, Think nightstand, entryway, above a stack of books, or bathroom vanity 🙂
handmade storage box, Handmade and so cute, useful, and the round shape looks great on a stack of square books (with a handwritten note hidden inside!).
animal trinket box, For those who want eccentricity. How cute are these?
Pedestal Bowl and Vase Set, Definitely a statement set, but I love its versatility.
Spiky Serving Tray, Weirdly punk rock for a serving tray 🙂
ceramic serving tray, The classic and so beautiful train track shape with the most delicate lips.
blue pottery plate, Very pretty on a vertically inclined shelf.
ceramic carved oval plate, I love this handmade feel (for those who like warm minimalism).
striped serving plate, A fun pop of pattern, but in a classic color palette.
All of these are great for styling – from placing a candle and matches on top of a stack of books. On your nightstand to hold hair ties and jewelry, or on your vanity or entry table to hold your keys. I can put these virtually anywhere – just ask 🙂
Marbled Stone Bubble Coaster, Such a cute little border (oh, could be a wine bottle coaster too!).
cloud concrete tray, Organic yet simple (and not boring).
Stone Catcher, I love how the light dances on this catchall.
ceramic jug vase, Don’t sleep on jugs for vases – the handle adds to the size of the overall flower arrangement.
wooden box with lid, Great for nightstand with matches, keys, or your memorabilia.
leather wall pocket organizer, I like it for spaces that need to use vertical wall space for storage.
original abstract painting, Original painting (sold, but the artist has many more). Buying art for the home is one of the hardest things. These pieces are easy to love!
original mixed media collage, One-of-a-kind, original collages and so many to choose from (trust me, giving art is my favorite).
original oil painting, Original oil painting (it’s sold out, but there are many more in her Etsy shop). I love these colors (and the only one!!).
seashell painting, Oysters and sardines are having a moment – don’t ask me, but I’m interested in them too!
Minimalist Bird Art Print, The color palette is soft with that pop of blue – feeling both sophisticated and playful.
original watercolor, No print!! An original watercolor that adds so much life to a home (many different ones available!).
charm necklace: I have this and have already added the charms my kids give me every Mother’s Day (brilliant hack, ladies – just add for pretty charms and everyone wins. Kids love choosing charms that represent their interests that year :))
monogrammed golf ball markers, I bought these for my FIL in hopes he would love them and brag about them to his friends 🙂
handkerchief ceramic bowl, I love how this bowl catches the light on top of a stack of books (it dances around). Also comes in creamy white (and can hold nuts, matches, remotes – anything!)
Bobbin Frames, These lacquered colors are so beautiful, and this manufacturer does it very well – support them instead of the big box knockoffs! These live on the wall above our family’s stairs and reflect light.
customized tennis bracelet, There is no limit to my emotionality. I sent Brian this link for the Elliot and Charlie bracelet (in gold). I’m not a very big diamond kind of person, so I don’t mind if it’s not nice jewelry 🙂
I feel like I can get away from Etsy in the best ways. Saturday mornings with my coffee, diving deep for art and pottery that I possibly don’t need but deeply want. Supporting small manufacturers, local or not, is a win-win. And if you missed our “Best Stores for Small Shopping in Portland” post from Wednesday, head over there to support our incredible creative community if you’re local. xx
