Let’s talk about putting together your space for one of the most “friends and family” times of the year. M has talked about taking a solid dose of “house pride”, and I definitely deal with it when friends come over. Will they still love me if my space is a little messy or the room isn’t perfectly designed? Absolutely. But am I happier and filled with “home pride” when it looks over the top? Other than that, of course. So since it’s the biggest selling season of the year, it’s the perfect time to really dial in some of the pieces you’ve been eyeing so your space is ready for guests (and good for you!). As you know, we’re big fans of wayfairGiven how deep their inventory is, good and well priced. They wanted to partner on a post, so naturally, I immediately raised my hand to do so. It’s always a lot of fun putting them together, I hope you’ll see in a minute. So to get the inspection wheels started, I put together three rooms where guests spend a lot of time – the living room, the dining room, and a bedroom (if they’re staying there). Then, to make it even more fun (and hopefully helpful), I gave each room a “Christmas makeover.” Again, everything is from Wayfair, and all of these items will ship fast and get to you on time, long before Christmas.
Living room – everyday life

Welcome to my rich, organic and yet effortless living room. i started Our Charcoal Meet Sectional Because I know gray seems to be a “safe” color to choose, and it’s so beautiful in person. I also chose a sectional for more seating/ lounge capacity. milo also comes in a sofa If you like it, but don’t have room for a full section 🙂 But to bring the warmth (and avoid the cold gray space), I chose this amazing chocolate brown rugThe pattern is modern but equally versatile, coffee table Solid wood and beautiful. I’m pretty sure we covered it in our “Best Affordable Furniture of 2025” post as well. When a piece is so beautiful, it needs to be celebrated more than once. then i chose a round side table In dark wood tones to keep things interesting and balance out all the rectangular shapes. Also, notice that two of the pieces have legs/openings underneath them (sectional and media center), and the coffee table and side tables are flush with the ground. Remember to balance that type of visual weight. Your eyes will thank you. Speaking of balance, since there are a lot of dark colors, I chose that credit Because of the woven door panels. It’s an added texture and brings some lightness. The same applies for lamps too! brass floor lamp is bright (and a little bit of metallic always helps brighten up a room), and table lamp Is white and will give beautiful soft atmospheric glow. Finally, for the pillows and throws, I wanted a mix of light tones, colors, and patterns. Burgundy is still on trend, but still a classic, so I knew I wanted to make it a color I wanted to incorporate. Plus, most of those pillows are from Chris Loves’ Julia x Loloi line, and boy, are they good. They’ve used a lot of them at the river house, so we know for sure they’re EHD-approved 🙂 Now, let’s decorate this room for Christmas…

She’s moody, a little classic, and whimsical, no? that tree This is what Emily used for The Carly Christmas shoot which she loves (and is cheap too!). i chose that skirt Let the light colors of the pillows and cabinet front do the talking 🙂 Balance is everything! then i saw those wooden figurine ornamentsAnd they immediately reminded me of the ornaments on my tree as they grew up. I think they’re quite nostalgic for a lot of people and add so much charm. Then, to bring the cool tone of the sectional, I thought Those velvet-wrapped ball ornaments This would be a beautiful, textured option that also matches the blue of the wooden ornaments. For the final set of jewellery, they paper folding honeycomb ornaments Are gimmicky, funny and talk to every brown person in the room. The other two are EHD Christmas decor staples small house And accordion treeBoth of these sets are amazing, and the tree pattern and classic colors add a ton of playfulness, Oh, what’s more cute and playful than that a small wooden mouseNothing. I wanted to make sure it had enough red to make it feel like a “classic Christmas” flower garland with big red bow, throw blanketAnd striped pillow Were fools. that green pillow This was also an easy swap, and that ruffled edge kills me, it’s so cute. Here is my dining room set up with an organic, modern twist. Table Was the first choice. I wanted something that felt fresh but not so trendy that you might actually get rid of it in a few years. This fits that bill! There are also two options for its size – 6-seater and 8-seater. chairs There were next hurdles, but I found them quickly. Green is a great neutral for everyday life and especially suitable for Christmas 😉 I also know how deeply M feels about finding upholstered chairs the ideal choice for long dinners. Reviews confirm that these babies are definitely comfortable. Now, I know rugs under dining tables are a divisive topic, but I wanted to offer an opinion for those who are professionals! I think this colorway Great for a little clutter, and I liked the contrast of the style to more modern furniture. Oh and candlestick holder Very Their modern abstract look mixed with the traditional patterns of the rug felt nice and eclectic to me. moving forward credenzaIt’s under $300 and beautiful, I apparently have a thing for the slightly rustic looking wood grain thing, But then, for modernization, I liked itcap bronze-framed mirror And Those Textured Ceramic SconesThey are plug-in, so no need for a junction box 🙂 And, how coold that is a bowl with legsThen playing outside the bowl, I loved it black pot (Perfect for water, as a vase or delicious cocktail ;)). Just a little extra makes all the difference, doesn’t it? I think the easiest way to make your dining table decor look festive is to add color to it matt and some decorations (e.g. candlestick holderIf you’re someone who has a special dinnerware set for Christmas, that’s great, but it doesn’t take much to really make the most of what you have. Then I liked the idea of adding a garland To a credit because it’s beautiful (and out of the way). But if you’re someone who likes to place garland on the table like a runner, that’s wonderful too! then you knew accordion tree Coming in, and wow, do I love the variety of figures in this set. then throw it in a little santaAnd this setup, dare I say it, is 10/10. This room could easily pass for a primary suite, so if you’re looking for bedroom inspo for yourself or your guests, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s start with the main part, bedThis cute, comfortable bed is under $350,,,sorry? But I think my favorite piece goes to They are modern traditional nightstandsIf you can believe it, they each cost less than $75, and customer review photos show me they’re just as stunning in person, If you need a nightstand and this is your style then pick these up!! But as you know, I like to mix it up, so bench (It has storage!) and dresser Become more modern. We believe that a room that blends styles well will always look good and interesting. The same applies for lighting. scones Whereas, lean more traditional table lamp Is modern. But their color schemes speak to each other, and the textures work very well together too. And if you’re wondering if all that bedding is Wayfair, yes, it is 🙂 Pinstriped Quilt Set It reminds me a lot of mine (but much more affordable). The stripes are rust colored, so they add a little warmth to the color, which works great burgundy throw pillow And table lamp. The bedroom here is Christmas-customized! Since this is a bedroom, decorating it isn’t necessary, of course, but it’s fun! And this is even more considerable if it is for a guest stay. I just did some simple and easy things. First, of course, is the bed. Change a throw And Pillow For a festive color palette, and you’re set. Then a small garland with some accordion trees And fairy lights It will fill that bedroom with so much Christmas spirit that you or your guests will never want to leave it. So decorate with caution 🙂
