About Sharjah Shake
Sharjah Shake is a thick, creamy milkshake made from frozen milk, banana, nuts and any malt powder. Sharjah Shake is a famous shake inspired by the southern Indian state of Kerala. It is known for its thick texture and simple ingredients.
Mostly frozen milk is used which gives creamy body. Banana, cashews and boost make it more filling and delicious. It does not require much material. There are many variations of this shake but the version I have shared is the classic shake served in many shops in Kerala.
The texture of this shake is very thick and rich. It is not like a regular milkshake which you drink easily. The cashews add a slight nuttiness and the malt powder adds a chocolatey flavor. Every sip tastes so delicious that you want to drink more. It is simple and does not require much preparation.
There are a few variations of this shake. Some people add dates instead of sugar. Some people add ice cream to it to make it a little more delicious. You can just make small changes and it will change the taste and texture slightly. You can adjust it completely depending on what you want. This shake is also a good option to serve to guests, most of the guests will definitely enjoy it.
I usually make this in the afternoon or evening when everyone wants something cold. Children enjoy it a lot and it keeps their stomach full for a long time. I usually make this when I want something cold and heavy. Its taste is sweet, soft and very comfortable.

Expert Tips
- frozen milk – I always freeze milk for at least 4-6 hours. This is very important to get a thick shake texture. Try not to use normal milk here.
- mix well – I usually blend for a while so that the cashews become smooth. Otherwise it may seem a little grainy while drinking.
- sweetness test – Check the sweetness of banana and add sugar accordingly.
- thickness control – If the shake seems too thick after blending, you can add a little milk to it and blend it again. I usually add very little at a time so it doesn’t get runny.

Serve them immediately after mixing in tall glasses. It is suitable as an evening drink or breakfast option. Always serve cold. Do not store this shake as its texture and taste change rapidly.
