For a recent holiday shoot (which was shot in early October) I struggled to find anything “Christmassy”, but found plenty that felt “closer to the holidays” (ie, festive, pops of red, or even a little more elevated than my usual denim/denim/scarf vibe). If you’re starting to think about what to wear for Thanksgiving or the holiday season, here are some beautiful holiday outfits. I dress up less these days, preferring to wear holiday sweaters instead of cocktail dresses, but some of these seem more transitional and easy to wear.

    Dress , Shoes

this dress Viral for a reason – it has nice wide sleeves, pin tuck pleating around the waist, and pockets – that is, it’s attractive and easy to wear. plaid is what got me – so festive and fun (and can definitely be worn for multiple seasons).

    Dress , Shoes

This dress comes in a bunch of different colors and patterns (and even fabrics) because it’s so popular. If I still went to church (well, a church where you dress up), this is definitely what I would wear. I also wore it with a chambray shirt tied around my waist and ballet flats or Samba sneakers for a more casual look. It is very easy to wear.

    Sweater , Jeans , belt , boots

this blonde isle sweater Pretty solid and a little on the spendy side (oh my god, it feels like everything is more expensive right now), it’s soft, easy to wear, and can last from fall to winter (not just for “the holidays”). But the good news is that when we checked yesterday, it’s on sale! I like it because it’s classic and neutral (I love Christmas sweaters, TBH, but really only wear the bright red sweater for about 6 weeks, so I like that it’s more durable). jeans Quince’s Bella Wide Legs are incredible (for $50!!!). I reduced the size a bit. Shoes Vince Camuto is for those looking for a little western vibe.

    blouse , pants , Shoes

Another pair of pants that is so popular that it is made in many different colors/styles – Colette (from Anthro). But ruffles are so much fun (and they blow/drape in such a fun way). I joked that it’s time your heels had more fun – it actually dances and bounces off your heels when you walk (usually this isn’t my preference, but I was pleased). shirt It’s from Old Navy and is a great menswear short/boxy look that I’ve been wearing a lot. can’t stop wearing Those mesh leopard ballet flats (Dolce Vita shoes are actually very comfortable).

    sweatshirt , skirt

it was so much fun skirt Wearing it can definitely be good for autumn/harvest/Thanksgiving or Christmas. I added it with this sweatshirt From Gap (it’s really cool – drop shoulders, great color), but it would also look great with a T-shirt or white button-up (half tucked in). Of course, you can decorate it, but that’s not my thing.

    sweatshirt vs sweater

cardigan , skirt , Shoes (Similar)

here i wore it a burgundy cardiganAnd I liked it, but it felt a little less than my style (a little more original and appropriate). I loved wearing it with a casual sweatshirt over the top (but I wish I had worn a necklace or scarf). It’s a lot of fabric and has a great lining (and it even has pockets!).

    blouse , skirt , belt , Shoes

this skirt What really surprised me was the floral corduroy, pencil stretchy enough to be comfortable but still very dressy. It’s definitely bold, but the floral is in such a beautiful color palette. I added it to my Frank and Eileen Denim Top (So thin, so easy to apply and layer, and yes, expensive, but I’ve had it for 4 years and still wear it all the time).

    top , floor , slippers

Ultimately, satin pj The one everyone on set wanted (which I wore in the little corner reading below). If you’ve been following my pajama journey (LOL), you probably know I prefer a thinner modal fabric rather than a satin-y feel (just a gold preference), but if you want something dressier, these are great. my current favorites are differencebut i love too j crew (Both feel “barely there”, while they’re not tangling with my legs, not making any cuts, and still wrap really well). I didn’t return this set because it wasn’t any good, but I’m very loyal to my matching sets.

    top , floor , slippers

    Happy holidays everyone. xx
