happy Sunday everyone. This coming Friday will be Gretch’s 3 year anniversary, and words can’t describe how incredibly grateful we are to have him! She’s talented, kind, funny and if you meet her, be careful because you Desire Fall in love with him. So we love you, Grech! Okay, on to this week’s link.
This week’s home tour This is perhaps the most whimsical yet beautiful ski cabin we’ve ever laid our eyes on. Attention to detail, mix of patterns that make shapes feel calming rather than overwhelming! John Martyn Studio did an unreal job. Hurry up, check it out now!
From Emily: I’m so happy when I find a brand that’s been around forever, one that I didn’t know existed, but once it was on my body, I was obsessed with it. i ordered this mule Because they looked beautiful and were not overly expensive. I put them on and said, “Hey, these are very comfortable”. Every day, I chose them. So when I went shopping for sandals for spring break (and life/shooting), I plugged into the brand to see if they made any other shoes, and lo and behold, they’re clearly experts at what Emily Henderson’s feet want – beautiful soft leather in a comfortable profile that’s easy to wear with everything. I’ve since ordered a few pairs to try out and show you (slides and flip flops), but if the soles and the texture of my mules are any indication, I’m afraid I’ve found my “everyday” shoe brand. Most people are okay with slightly uncomfortable shoes. I am not. I wore Aerosols to my wedding (true story), and while I can handle heels for a night out with Brian, I’ve always worn Cork-ees, even when I was younger. So if you’re like me and want super comfortable shoes to wear all day long, check out this brand.
Also from Emily: Speaking of cozy mules, for a more “dressed up version,” I also like these These burgundy leather pointy mules. So, if you’re shopping this weekend, I have an Anthropologie code for you – EMILYH20 For 20% discount. enjoy!
In case you missed this week’s Instagram highlights:
From Jess: I’ve decided I want to start wearing halter tops again. I think the neckline is very pretty, you can usually wear a regular strapless bra or nipple covers if needed, and you can easily wear them out for a nice dinner out or something. last week i bought it is in black (One size up from my normal size) to a Brandi Carlile concert (take her if you can! She’s so talented). It’s double-lined, which I really like. then i got it This one For a day date at the beach in light blue in my normal size. It’s technically a workout top, but for me, it needs more support than it does for any type of workout I usually do 🙂 However, I felt good and confident in it for my date. 10/10. Did I mention they’re both under $50! I love them both and know I will be wearing them all spring and summer long.
From Arlene: It’s not often that four grown men sit around a 4-year-old opening her birthday party presents and be genuinely surprised by what she’s just opened. When I tell you that, I, my husband, and our two (adult) friends, gasped with surprise and delight. disney princess pop-up bookThis is not an exaggeration. My girl was lucky to get one of these Works of Matthew ReinhartAnd if you’ve never seen his work, hold on to your seats. There are so many incredible elements in each page, and even after reading it every day for two weeks, we’re all still obsessed with it. This might be a gift for a preschooler, but there are many other gifts suitable for children of all ages. They make incredible gifts (obviously), as long as you know what the recipient’s interests are. Even if you don’t need anything from Reinhart’s catalog, do yourself a favor and visit your local bookstore to see if they have anything to experience. I promise it will make your jaw drop!
From Gretchen: Recently, my mom came to visit for a girls’ weekend in Portland. Together, we concluded Cheat season 4 (Such a good time this year) and walked around the city. We walked on bridges with friends, had the most delicious lunch Shalom y’alland finished shopping for the day Goods & urban (Two recaps from our strong “Shop Small” post here). I came across The most delicious smelling perfume At Urbanite and just had to take it home. It was Blom’s fabulous girly packaging and the number 27 imprinted on it that initially caught my attention, but the coconut scent forced me to take it to the register. It’s relatively affordable, has clean ingredients, and smells great.
congratulations to Velinda Helen Design (EHD alum Velinda Helen, julie roseAnd grace de assis) on this incredible 8 page spread in House Beautiful that was shot sarah ligoria-trump and styled by emily bowser! Go buy the issue!!
From Marli: I have linked these jeans Before, but these are so easy to wear that I’m doing it again. I get a lot of compliments from him. They’re the Free People risk-taking mid-rise jean — if this sounds familiar, it’s because M has them too and is wearing them in her denim roundup. They have a raw hem and super cute panel detail – I have them in the same wash as M, “Be Bold”, which is a true blue, but I’ve got them in a really nice cream. I wear a lot of blue, so I’ve been trying to invest in more neutral colored pants so I can rock my inventory of blue tops every day without leaving the house looking extremely monochromatic, ha. I will say that these jeans run true to size, and stretch quite a bit after a couple of wears (but not in a bad way!).
From Mallory: I’ve been trying to wear “outfits” regularly since I work from home, and always being dressed up makes me feel more attracted to each other – but it has to be comfortable, otherwise I won’t wear it (I’m literally just sitting by myself, so why would I), but you guys, I found. this skirt I am crazy. It costs under $40 – waist tight, lightweight and very easy to wear. I paired it with a cropped white boxy tee and I love it.
From Caitlin: My favorite comedian of all time, Chris Fleming, just released new hbo comedy specialAnd it is solid gold. (If you’re unfamiliar with Chris, you’ll have to watch this classic clip From his Breakout YouTube series – it’s about cleaning before company comes, and I still quote it every time I break out my vacuum. I want this place that looks like Disney on Ice in a minute!) The special was produced by Conan O’Brien (he has). best coordination), and if you also like NPR, Acrobat, and Trader Joe’s, this will be a perfect fit for you. Dan and I had the pleasure of watching Chris’s set last year as he workshopped the material (my only proof is a blurry photo of Chris’s feet, which seems appropriate), and seeing the finished product was a pure joy. If you want to disconnect from the news for an hour and fifteen minutes, try this!
Thanks for stopping by, and we can’t wait to see you tomorrow. xx
