happy Sunday everyone! The weather is already cool in Portland, but the temperatures in LA are finally making it feel like the beginning of the holidays. We’re all very excited to spend time with our families this week for Thanksgiving, and maybe even get some holiday gifts during Black Friday. We hope that you all are also waiting for it. ok, link?
This week’s home tour This is a great story about how an Austin couple made the owners of a 100-year-old home promise they wouldn’t tear it down if they sold it to them. He kept his promise, but you have to see what he did!
From Emily: Our family is putting on a show that I’ve completely missed, but I have to tell my generation, because I know I’m not alone in my former snobbery. When Brian and I were 20 in New York survivor Made his debut. I had never seen any frames of it, but then Marlee and Gretchen were saying they had seen it with their parents in high school, so out of desperation (we finished it) modern Family, We tried it. We are officially addicted. Marley gave me a list of the best seasons (there are now over 40), so we started with season 20, then 28, then 32, 34, and now we’re so into it that we don’t mind watching fewer All-Star seasons. Our kids (10 and 12) love it, and we talk a lot about psychology, risk taking, lying, adventure, etc. We watch 1-2 episodes a night after dinner (or their games/sports activities), and it’s become a lovely way to spend time together with zero effort and complete spontaneity. Charlie and I sit together on the floor pillows in front of the fire and cuddle, which I value very much as he is now entering his teenage years. So thank you to Jeff Probst and the Mark Burnett crew (who produced my season) design star, Which I don’t recommend, LOL.
From Gretchen: M raves about her favorite after listening for so long Percale Sheet from BrooklinenI finally gave in and tried them for myself. And yes, he is absolutely right! They are absolutely the best. I knew how soft they were from shooting with them, making beds and whatnot, but actually sleeping on them? This is a completely different story. It’s almost hard to describe how comfortable and cozy they feel. It’s an extremely noticeable difference from sleeping on my old Ikea sheets, and for that reason, I don’t think I’ll ever go back. A great gift to step up your bedtime game or for any holiday guests if you really want to show off your hosting skills!
From Marley: I recently got one new pair of jeans That I’m really in love. They’re Levi’s bottom line – low/medium rise (just below the navel), they sit right on my hips, and have very straight legs. These are my dream go-to jeans – for reference, I have a short torso with long legs, and feel very awkward in high-waisted jeans. I wear them in this really nice dark wash and have already gotten so many compliments on them in the first week of wearing them. Will definitely catch them in the wash one more time! On their website, they recommend sizing up; However, I’m usually between 26 and 27, and I ordered a 26, and they fit perfectly. (I also ordered a 27 and they still fit, but didn’t like the baggy look.) My friends who have these agreed that going down a size was a step up because they stretch out a bit after a few wears. I’m 5’8” and I purchased them in the 32” length, and they fall just below my ankle. I like their length and I think they look great with boots or clogs, but even a 30-inch length probably would have been a nice cropped look!
Also from Marlee: Also, if you’re reading this on Sunday, we have a 30% off Anthro code for all of you! This is EMILYH30, and it works on home decor, clothing, you name it. Some of our recent Anthro favourites: His favorite new fuzzy blanketThese are really solid flameless pillar candlesit exquisite ditch M is wearing this autumn, and this Puff Sleeve Sweater:) Today is the last day to use the code!
From Mallory: I’ve been liking a little patterned jacket lately, and This one Great deal for only $55!! How cute is that brown houndstooth?? It’s perfect for fall.
From Caitlin: I’m a little embarrassed to admit this, but I could run a Theragun store out of my apartment. (We have the old school standard Theragun, the mini, the roller, the one that wraps around your back… it’s a lot.) But this year, my boyfriend Dennis brought home the crown jewel of our collection: Prime Plus TheragunI want to kiss the guy who invented this thing, Unlike older Theragons, this one offers a heated attachment, cooling attachment, and a few new shapes (wedge!) that provide a premium massage experience from the comfort of your home, (Don’t get me started on the red light functionality – it feels like I’m in a spa whenever I’m using it, And the guided treatments in the Theragun app really work – I can fix my tight hips or back in a matter of minutes!) If you’re looking at Theragun this holiday season, it is worth buying -Don’t waste your time on others. Added bonus: You can buy it with your HSA/FSA funds! Keep your eyes open for great deals this week.
From Jess: One brand I love from a distance is Simon Miller. Their clothes are fun, bold and yet sophisticated. Dream! Well, they had a sample sale last week and let’s just say I am now the proud owner of a high quality sequined pant (plus a few other pants I’m very excited to wear). This sale was also next to their regular store (dangerous), so my friend and I headed there. then i found this knitted topIt’s very flattering, you can wear a normal bra, and it stays on very well, I’m tempted to buy matching pants on Black Friday, but we’ll see!
From Arlene: Looking for that gift that *really* no one knows they need? A gift that might come in handy for a preschooler or a 40+ year old? Something small enough to fit in a stocking that everyone is fighting to use? Well, I found you! ni doh ghan It’s the best $7 you’ll spend this season, I promise. I first discovered these in the “quiet corner” of my daughter’s preschool classroom and I couldn’t place them. Then my husband experienced it one weekend while volunteering to clean up in said classroom, and came home impressed. So, I bought one for her recent birthday, and we’re all addicted to its firm, squishy squeeze. Just trust me on this one!
From EHD: Since Black Friday sales are already in full swing, we wanted to highlight our beloved long-term partner most modern With some gift ideas for a loved one (or just for you ;)). Let’s join in!
Vases that will make you look attractive
A nice vase is never a great gift because it is usually not something we would prefer to buy for ourselves. We love these two so much! painted This is a slightly different version of Jess’s living room mantel. It’s bold without being loud. re size Black It’s very good. It’s modern, cool and very versatile.
Do you need a great lamp that’s a great deal? Both of these fit the bill. Both are timeless with a Midcentury Modern feel and look very sophisticated, but not over the top or cold. Any one of these will elevate any room.
Well, here are some great gift ideas! Often accompanied by champagne glasses, we head straight for a classic flute. And while there’s nothing wrong with it, I wouldn’t drink it one of these So much fun and so great to display? Functional art, if you like 🙂 Again, a small decorative storage box is another thing we don’t typically consider a decor “necessity”, but that can add a great punch of pattern, color, and/or texture! This green color palette Looks amazing and would also work with many other colors in a room.
A great watering can makes an excellent gift for anyone who has a plant This one Cool, fun and modern! Then again, if you loved Bower’s backyard makeover, you probably remember this gardenerThey looked great at his place and probably would at yours too 😉
