I’m still wearing dresses, spring dresses if you will. Even the rainiest days of shooting can’t stop us from buying tulips and ranunculus and posing around my house in the name of extending the season. And honestly, it’s got us all very excited for spring and spring dresses. Making it through the “great long darkness” here is worth celebrating by picking up a few new things that make us feel good. (Finally a sales announcement, BTW).

All of you. I have to admit something (and expect no comment wars) – Walmart’s negative PR in the 90s really stuck with me for decades. My massive 8-year partnership with Target (to which I honestly attribute my success) made my loyalty clear. But as we’re increasingly realizing that all the big thrift companies can be both good and bad, I decided to release my judgment in the name of thrifty options and go to my first Walmart store since I was a teenager. For your information, there is no one who is close to me, and there are two targets within 10 minutes. Although this particular shopping experience wasn’t spectacular, I still found a few things that I tried at home and was blown away by. This seersucker suit is one of them. This is very good.

It’s a subtle statement that has a clear point of view and can be worn both separately and as a dressy summer suit. It looks appropriately expensive and has great stitching. If I had an office job, I would absolutely have this in rotation.

It’s probably more than what I’d wear if I wanted to give a “suit.” this blazer Beautiful and oversized, which I think is successful because of its small pattern and serious double-breasted cut. big fan.

i wore it over simple t-shirtLayered Jewellery, the World’s Finest To end Of the Claire V bag from Target (oh my god, I feel so confused about this!!). I’m so glad more people can get the cool bag look without spending $350, but geesh. target sandals Which I reviewed in my Sandals Roundup (mostly well!!).

Probably one of my favorite costumes that is weirdly boring and yet successful. affordable sweatersabove my favorite bermuda denim shortsAnd The world’s most comfortable mules. I can’t stop wearing these shoes – with shorts, dresses, and pants (I’ve literally named all the clothes your feet can wear). They are extremely flattering while still being very comfortable.

I sized the sweater up to medium so it would be more grandpa cardigan-y, which is great. I don’t know what she is looking at with tender love.

After trying it, I immediately congratulated myself on finding it This summer’s denim romper. Buttons, loose waist, tie, pockets…it falls and drapes so well. The shorts ring and have big volume, which I think is flattering (moments of big volume make other areas feel smaller).

I’m going to wear it all summer long. especially with those sandals (which are in heavy rotation).

denim set | beaded necklace | mules
I think this set Very chic. It is very voluminous, and is considered oversized, but the woman who walks into a meeting wearing it is calm and confident.

There are pleats at the waist and the stitching is in the right tone. It has a lot of fabric, so it’s great for days when you don’t want to feel too exposed (or you don’t have anything that hugs or pulls), but I think it’s great. I like it with my nude mules, but I think it could also look great with leopard sandals.
***For all my Portland friends, I will be having a pop-up sale on Saturday, April 11th community warehouseWhere I am bringing 10 racks of clothes which are in good condition. An occupational hazard of the job is that I have to wear what’s currently there – clothes I legitimately like. But I can’t hoard clothes without purging, and most of my clothes aren’t expensive enough to go to consignment, but they’re in near-perfect condition, so donating to Goodwill feels sad. So I offered to do a pop-up for 4 hours, where The CW gets all the money from the sales, while I get to meet so many of you, which really fills my bucket. More details to come, but we’re thinking I’ll be there from 11-3 at the Community Warehouse location on MLK. I will bring a lot of other stuff that is sent to me that I don’t bring need – Think candles, beauty, some lamps/beds – all things that had to be shot, but in perfect condition. Think of a garage sale more than a flea market. Come say hello!!!
Oh, and if you missed the spring sandal post, here you go! Or a spring dress post!
