Mittu loves fish fry and it is the only non-veg item she eats. So I have started experimenting with fish dishes also. This is a basic fish fry which is very simple and easy to make at home.

About Fish Fry
Fish fry is made using fish, spice powder, rice flour, lemon juice, salt and oil. Firstly the fish pieces are marinated using the mentioned ingredients and toasted on a pan or deep fried. Deep fried fish tastes great, but pan roasted fish fry is equally good.
This fish fry is aromatic, flavourful and delicious which is perfect to eat with rice. This fish fry can be made using pomfret fish, seared fish etc. My family likes its combination with rasam rice best.
Fish fry is one of the popular orders in restaurants. The heat level in this recipe is medium, you can change it as per your taste.

- fish – You can use any type of fish you like. I have used seer fish which is also called vanjaram in tamil.
- Masala Powder – Turmeric powder, red chili powder and coriander powder are added.
- Ginger Garlic Paste – Ginger garlic paste is added for taste.
- Rice flour – Rice flour is added to give the fries a crispy texture.
- Salt – Salt is added for taste.
- Lemon juice – Lemon juice adds tangy flavor.
- Oil – Oil for frying fish or frying it on a pan.
How to make fish fry step by step
1.Clean the fish and wash it thoroughly. Cancel. In a wide mixing bowl add red chilli, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, coriander powder, lemon juice, rice flour and required salt along with the fish. – Sprinkle some water and mix well. Apply seasoning on all sides of the fish and marinate for at least 30 minutes. Cancel.

2. Heat oil in a pan or dosa griddle and fry the fish until the color of the fish turns golden red. You can also deep fry alternatively.

Serve hot with lemon slices and onion rings.

- Adjust the spice level as per your taste and preference.
- You can serve fish with raw onion. I like it very much with tomato sauce.
- If you like spiciness then squeeze lemon while serving.
- You can also add ginger garlic paste to the marinade additionally.
- We like pan-fried fish fry more than deep fried fish fry. It also prevents the fish from becoming hard.

Fish fry tastes great with raw onion and a slice of lemon. You can marinate fish pieces and freeze them for about a month. Melt it, then fry it and serve it hot!
