Well. We scheduled it for Friday, and I have almost no plans this weekend (besides 4 kids’ games). As I’m writing this, I’m in bed, sniffling, begging not to latch on to this cold, rewatching Ransom ValleySeason 1, in preparation for Season 2. This is very good. But denim shorts can’t be worn by themselves, and there are plenty of bad shorts out there that should be avoided (y’all, I tried a lot and was amazed at the cut). Turns out that some of my favorites from the last two years are still going strong, possibly because they’re solid in both quality, style, and flattery. You see, I think most of us don’t really want to wear tight denim shorts in the summer. Isn’t the whole point to feel casual and cool by wearing them? We don’t want them tight and narrow. So here are my favorites right now – some old and some brand new.

While I want my #1 to be as affordable as my #2 (below), These agolde parker shorts Will continue to be strong in year three, which I think says a lot. They have the perfect structure that sits softly on the hips and then flares out a bit (I don’t like the denim leg hug), which gives your legs some room and plays with your eyes in a nice way. Man, they are good. His hem is raw, but not too painful. They’re a thick denim with almost no stretch and run a little big (I’m wearing a 27 here and when I wore a 28 in most things these still fit).

My second favorite for a tall profile are denim shorts from this gap. They’re loose, not full “jorts”, which I know a lot of us aren’t into (despite them being “in”, I guess, are they really?). These are very easy to wear, and are super soft with some stretch (so they are very, very comfortable). These are their 8″ drops, which usually means pretty high waisted, but they don’t hug and cuddle me like a lot of high waisted ones do.

Now, These denim shorts Definitely jorts, and listen, I love wearing them because the color, fade, fit, stitching, and structure are really good (they’re another pair from Agolde). These are best paired with flip flops or samba and an oversized Anything Or a small tank on top. i still really love her These leopard sandalsBy the way.

Very good, all of you. How nice. These denim shorts There are no more work clothes, cargo denim shorts (so on the very, very casual side), and dressing up. But it’s easy enough to wear with sandals or sneakers and loose enough to walk around or even bike for hours. Definitely size down on these (I’m 27 now, and these 26s are still too loose on me).

For you/all of us who might want to look a little more united, These denim shorts Have this two-tone denim look polished, and they have a stitching with a beautiful brass button detail that shows you care. Flattering, comfortable, and can definitely be dressed up with some heels (kitten or platform).

For those who want to be “mini” but not “micro” These denim shorts Are great. They run true to size (I ordered two sizes up because I thought they would be tight), but they are well cut and fit really well. They sit well on the hips, don’t cut in or hug too tightly, and flare out just a bit.

They’re distressed but not in a way that would make my father-in-law make fun of me and ask me if I needed to borrow money to buy real shorts 🙂 It’s a great light blue wash. And yes, they are The world’s most comfortable and yet very cute mules.
