About Fruit Popsicle
A fruit popsicle is a homemade frozen dessert made by mixing fruit with coconut water and freezing it in a mold. It is not as heavy as ice cream but still tastes cool and sweet. The natural fruit flavor comes through very clearly in every bite. It feels like a little fruity surprise inside a frozen bar that melts slowly in the mouth.
This recipe is often made during the summer season when fresh fruits are easily available. It is soft, juicy and slightly crunchy depending on the fruits used. The taste is naturally sweet and sometimes mildly tart, depending on the combination of fruits. Coconut water gives a very light refreshing base which keeps it simple. This is the easiest way to feed different fruits to children without any hassle.
You can use any fruit of your choice like grapes, apple, kiwi, strawberry or pomegranate. Some people also add juice instead of coconut water for a different taste. This is a flexible recipe and you can change the fruits every time depending on the season. Each batch has a slightly different color and taste making it more fun to prepare again and again.
I usually make this when fruits are lying in the fridge and no one wants to eat them fresh. Sometimes I even make extra and store it for a few days so that there is always something good ready at home.

fruit popsicle ingredients
- mixed fruit – I have used it as the main part of popsicle, it gives natural sweetness and color. You can use any seasonal fruit of your choice or substitute any fruit.

Expert Tips
- Cutting – I usually cut fruits into small pieces so that they freeze properly and are easy to eat. Once frozen, it may be difficult to cut into larger pieces.
- fruit balance – Try mixing soft and slightly hard fruits so that the texture looks interesting when eating the popsicle. Very soft fruits may become mushy on their own.
- filling molds – Do not fill the mold completely, leave a small space so that the coconut water has room to expand during freezing and does not fall.
- stick placement – I just insert the sticks right before freezing so they stay straight and don’t move when frozen.
- to solidify – I freeze overnight so that the popsicles set completely and come out clean without breaking. Freezing for a short time can soften them.
serving and storage
For best taste and cooling effect serve it straight from the freezer when completely frozen and it tastes refreshing on a hot afternoon and also serves as a light dessert after meals. Store them in a mold or airtight container in the freezer so that they remain fresh for a few days.
