Arbi Fry is an easy and delicious side dish for rice. Arbi is called Seppankizhangu in Tamil, this Arbi fry is crispy and delicious. This simple arbi fry can be made in many ways and this version that I have shared here is from Amma.
Arbi or arbi is a vegetable that is consumed during religious fasting days. You can also marinate it with spice powder and roast it in the oven. Sometimes I fry or toast it on a pan, which also tastes good.

Arabic Fry Ingredients
- Arabic – Choose small sized colocasia. Remove the peel from the pressure cooker, cut it into pieces and use it.
- Masala Powder – For this, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and garam masala powder are used.
- ginger garlic paste – Ginger garlic paste adds flavor to the fries.
- rice flour – Rice flour adds crispness to frying.
How to make arbi fry step by step
1. Cook Seppankizhangu in a pan with enough water until soft or pressure cook for 1 whistle. Drain the water and let it cool. Now peel the peel and make a vertical incision. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, ginger garlic paste, rice flour, garam masala powder, salt as required and leave it to marinate for 15-30 minutes.

2. Keep it in the fridge so that it does not drink too much oil while frying. Deep fry till golden brown and drain in tissue paper. You can also fry it on dosa pan.
