My friends call me “Spring”. I don’t know if this is accurate or true, but it feels right based on my personality and what colors I like (happy pastels, etc.). But dresses are hard for me, and while I know we all have different body types (and some women love a dress on them), I struggle to find that ideal garment that doesn’t hug in places I don’t want it to and that is flattering without being overly tight. I can wear shorts and blouses all day, but I’m so glad I found some great outfits (after kissing so many frogs). So here are some comfortable, easy-to-wear, transitional spring dresses (that work for summer and fall…and winter too). (Finally a sales announcement, BTW).

    Dress | slides

I found three spring dresses in a blue plaid peasant vibe at three different price points that were excellent. This oneWeighing in at $40, it has great drape, a beautiful neckline and is super easy to wear.

Now I size up to this, wore a medium because it was tight in my bust and clung too much around my stomach, but I really liked how the medium hung. It gives a “nightgown” kind of look that I really like, and once paired with beautiful slide And a denim shirt around your waist, you have a super easy outfit to wear to lunch.

    Dress | slides

The most expensive of these plaid peasant spring dresses this don number It fits me so well that I can’t return it (despite preferring less expensive ones). So rarely does a dress have perfect tailoring, in a fabric that is truly flattering. It’s roomy in the bust (and will probably increase if you have smaller ladies) and then hugs with plenty of room – thanks to those lovely shaping seams.

    Dress | slides

It’s made of high-quality cotton that still drapes well and is very lightweight (it’s coming on spring break with me).

    Dress | slides

Ultimately, we have mid price pointFrom Anthropologie, which I personally tried on, or I never would have thought it would fit me. It’s like a glove. I’m wearing a small and it has a lot of structure (zipper on the side).

    Dress | slides

Now I can’t wear a bra with it (it shows both the front and sides and is low cut in the back), so I took the bra off my cakes First time and glad to see they work!! The structure of the dress also kept them in place, but I felt adequately supported (I don’t know if I’d attempt aggressive wedding dancing in them, BTW). This is Brian’s favorite of all the dresses (mostly because I never wear anything low-cut. Big fan.

    Dress | sandals

The loveliest of all spring dresses ever, this white dress Lisa says gah super stylish, and I feel great in it, but it’s definitely distinctive. The Pilgrim Collar isn’t for everyone, but once I added it leopard sandalsI liked it very much. Eventually I returned it because my super casual (and disheveled) lifestyle doesn’t really support a bright white dress, and so many other dresses would be more on trend. But we all agreed it was amazing and stylish.

Now this dress It’s not typical for me, but I wanted to create a model that would appeal to people who don’t want to wear pastel colors. This short cap has a beautiful cut with sleeves and V neck, making it very easy to wear. It’s poplin, so it falls but it’s not a very easy fabric. It has a slightly more decadent feel to it, but that’s probably so good that you can wear it all year round.

    Dress | sandals

Well, this list is a sleeper hit this dress. I have worn it 4 times already (two travel days and two work days). It’s linen and has an incredible drape, as well as a full skirt that looks even more beautiful with its volume (creating a really nice shape).

    Dress | sandals

I really wish it came in other colors (besides the white/blue pattern, which I tried, but it’s definitely bold and distinctive enough). This is a “wear everywhere” dress, and I packed it for Spring Break because it’s so easy to wear while still feeling beautiful (but very low maintenance). FYI, this dress runs large, so I ordered an XXS.

    Dress | sandals

Although I’m embarrassed by my pose, I love that dress. It falls really well, has a nice low neckline, but you can still wear a bra with it. The ruffle has a lot of volume and dances really well when you move.

    Dress | sandals

The sleeves are flowy, there’s room around the belly (and it’s lined), and this color looks great during fall. Great holiday or weekend outfit.

Dress | sandals | beaded necklace

I love this dress So much, but I couldn’t fit it on myself. It’s a medium, and it’s a little loose (considering the price, I need it to fit better), but the smaller part was too tight in the bust and waist.

Dress | sandals | beaded necklace

I think it’s a beautiful dress (and subtle), but my proportions just didn’t work. It has great fabric and exudes summer.

    Dress | slides

Second I was like, “Yeah, it’s a yes”. It’s cute, easy to dress up and down, and it’s a great spring to summer transitional dress.

    Dress | slides

I’m wearing a size smaller, and it still fits well (the girth around the ribs is thick in a good way – sometimes I find them so thin that everything underneath them is visible, and I feel very uncomfortable). If you don’t have a summer tan yet, it would be really beautiful even with full coverage, and cowboy boots.

    Dress | slides

This was another complete surprise!! this dress $40, and while the small didn’t fit me well, once I sized it up to the medium, it draped very well. It doesn’t fit as well as it should have, but I love how it hugs me and looks really cute.

    Dress | slides

It has pockets, a sweetheart neckline, and is just casual and cute. This is a keeper and I’ll be wearing it a lot this summer.

    Dress | sandals

Another full-coverage for us ladies who aren’t ready to show it all. this dress It has a nice shape, an easy fit that doesn’t snag or pull, a great go-to throw with voluminous sleeves, and a great fabric.

    Dress | sandals

It has pockets, which can be easily worn with flip flops as well as heels. I tried on at least 40 spring dresses in the Target dressing room. This is a great, affordable option that has taken hold for being unexpectedly good.

    Dress | sandals | Cap

this is one Many of you are going to try it and be unable to buy. It’s so flowy and comfortable with beautiful flutter sleeves and a V-neck. Although it has an empire waist, I didn’t feel maternity in it – the cut of the sides was getting slimmer.

    Dress | sandals | Cap

This is a great dress from spring to fall for all those days when we want zero structure or tailoring (the perfect period or tanning dress). Absolutely roomy and comfortable (and in a really thin fabric with a super flowy drape, with lining).

    Dress | heels (similar)

i chose it As in holiday attire (for our trip). The color, the pattern, the cut – all seem perfect for an end-of-the-day atmosphere where it’s a little chilly, and you want sleeves (or a layer). It is a shirt dress with a tie at the waist if you are interested in it.

Dress | flats | heels (similar)

Thanks to Caitlin, who took the most beautiful photos on the rainiest and darkest days (that’s how we shot the spring dresses inside instead of outside).

    Dress | slides

It’s fine now This one It may be considered “pajamas”, but that didn’t stop me (and I kept it – I really like it a lot). This is my ideal throw-and-go outfit for running around town, but I also want to feel cute and even cute. Zero hug and pull, but with flirty neckline and bow/loop.

    Dress | slides

I don’t think I’m really selling it. I would wear this on a hot day, almost like a cover-up at the beach. I loved the retro floral/stripe pattern, and my entire team agreed that they could see me wearing it all the time (I trust them too much to be honest with me).

***For all my Portland friends, I will be having a pop-up sale on Saturday, April 11th community warehouseWhere I am bringing 10 racks of clothes which are in good condition. An occupational hazard of the job is that I have to wear what’s currently there – clothes I legitimately like. But I can’t hoard clothes without purging, and most of my clothes aren’t expensive enough to go to consignment, but they’re in near-perfect condition, so donating to Goodwill feels sad. So I offered to do a pop-up for 4 hours, where The CW gets all the money from the sales, while I get to meet so many of you, which really fills my bucket. More details to come, but we’re thinking I’ll be there from 11-3 at the Community Warehouse location on MLK. I will bring a lot of other stuff that is sent to me that I don’t bring need – Think candles, beauty, some lamps/beds – all things that had to be shot, but in perfect condition. Think of a garage sale more than a flea market. Come say hello!!!

Oh, and if you missed the spring sandal post, here you go!
