Fruit Custard Ingredients
- custard powder – I have used vanilla flavored custard powder.
- Milk – Use full cream milk for best results.
- Sugar – Use white granulated sugar.
- chopped fruits – I used a mixture of apple, banana, watermelon, orange and pomegranate.
How to make fruit custard
- – Cut the fruits into cubes and keep ready. Boil the milk, keep it aside to cool.
- Take ½ cup milk in a small bowl, add custard powder and mix well without any lumps. Keep aside.
- Heat the remaining milk, boil it, then add the custard milk mixture, sugar and mix well. The mixture will start to thicken so be very careful and keep stirring until you get a creamy consistency. The custard will thicken even when refrigerated so its consistency should be slightly liquid.
- Switch off, let the custard cool for 5 minutes and then add the fruits and mix well. Your fruit custard is ready. Let it cool for a few minutes and then serve.

Expert Tips
- If your custard becomes thick then add some more milk to it and mix well.
- You can skip the sugar and have it with the natural sweetness of fruits.
- Since I made this when mangoes were not in season I couldn’t use it. Mangoes will definitely give a nice flavor to the custard.
- Use freshly cut fruits and serve fresh.
serving and storage
Refrigerate the fruit custard before serving. If you want, you can also add nuts and dry fruits to it. Fruit custard keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
