happy Sunday everyone. As the world moves towards more hate and despair, these introductions are becoming harder to write every week. But hatred is not something you will find here. So, as we focus on love and community action, give it a little pause with some links and some really cool Easter dress suggestions from Emily herself.

This week’s home tour Drew Barrymore’s upstate New York home. It was a labor of love filled with pieces she already had, which is really refreshing. It’s incredibly attractive and hot, just like her. Go check it out!

From Emily: Here are a look at my Easter dresses I found and loved!

    Dress | slides

Although I don’t wear Easter wreaths or decorate with bunnies for a month anymore, I love Easter-appropriate attire, and wreaths are in there. this first oneFrom Target, surprisingly nice and very easy to wear.

    Dress | slides

It’s a shirt dress with a tie, puff sleeves and a pattern – the trifecta of flattering elements. This may require some self-tanner (I prefer). cocoa and eve, loving tan (whole line), and St. tropez When I can’t get my weekly spray tan).

    Dress | heel

This one Made me feel like a lady. It looks very high-end, drapes incredibly, and the floral pattern is so beautiful.

    Dress | heel

This is a very comfortable dress. It’s not tight, not hugging, and the pattern is bright without being too bold. I felt like a fancy southern lady going to church in this dress.

    Dress | flats

Okay, now we were all in a state of confusion This one – It’s a prom from the early 90’s I think it might be in? The reason I’m highlighting it is because it’s oddly attractive and well made, considering it’s from Target. It’s not for everyone (and maybe it affects the youth?), but I thought it was worth showing and telling. flats Cute, but I returned them because white cotton shoes don’t make sense in Oregon 🙂

Oh, girlfriend is about to have a very loud brunch (with or without Jesus!).

In case you missed this week’s Instagram highlights:

From Jess: I want to make it clear that I prefer mesh or jelly flat shoes. I have at least two pairs. But I also want a shoe that won’t show my toes when I feel like it. Can’t a girl get a solid flat that isn’t a Mary Jane (they are everywhere) or something that can’t be seen through??? My second criterion is that I don’t want them to be too formal – just a little playful, but appropriate for an adult woman. Obviously, this is a needle in a haystack. so when i got theseI was very excited. They are basically an adult ballet slipper. I love the color (I’m crazy about the light blue) and how they elongate my legs. And while I wouldn’t say they’re overly supportive, they are very comfortable. Oh, and they’re $59! They only come in half sizes, so I went up instead of down, and they were perfect. i really loved too butter yellow.

From Arlin: I’m keeping an eye on a bag I kept seeing it wrapped around the torso of one of the moms I’m friends with at my daughter’s school, and I finally decided to ask her about it. Sure, I could have asked him in advance, but I’m always afraid that I’ll find out it’s expensive and out of my budget, or out of date and no longer available for purchase. But it checked all the right boxes! I had never heard of the Canwell brand, but I’m glad I know it now! About a year ago, I purchased a Crescent crossbody bag from a Facebook ad, and it turned out to be so floppy that everything piled up in the middle bottom of the purse, making it very frustrating to grab what I needed. These bags are casual looking yet sturdy, have a great pocket structure and also have a key lanyard. I’ll definitely be putting this on my list for the next time I feel the need for a new purse!

From Marli: I recommend these jeans Before, but I’ve had them go through another wash, and they’re so good they deserve another mention (they’re still on sale). They’re less loose than Levi’s, and I like how they fit – I’m 5’8″ with long legs and a short torso, and these fit right at my hips, and have a perfectly straight leg. No flare, no taper. I usually wear between a 26 and 28, depending on how I want my pants to fit, and I have these in a 26! They are a little snug when they come out after washing, but they loosen up quickly without losing their shape or being too baggy.

From Gretchen: I’m seeing “ugly good” shoes on my timeline. I never thought I’d be attracted to these kinds of shoes (heavy black soles, wild colors, and comfort over everything else), but I have to say, I’ve been so attracted to the way people have been styling them lately. And for a girl from Portland, buying a casual, “gorpcore” shoe isn’t so weird. I stumbled These Nikes in an online girl’s “Ugly Shoe Roundup” video and couldn’t get them out of my mind (or my shopping cart). I must say they are extremely comfortable and I love the electric green laces, plus the black soled shoes are very easy to keep clean (or leave dirty). Next on my ugly-but-maybe-they’re-actually-pretty-cute-shoes wish list curious jasper shoes!

From Caitlin: Dan and I are newly obsessed with Louis Theroux Recent Documentaries on the ManosphereWhich follows a handful of stupid, spineless, misogynistic scoundrels who create material for teenage boys. I’m torn on how I feel about this – we spent a solid 90 minutes last Saturday doubled over in laughter at the nonsense coming out of these guys’ mouths, before we return to the harsh reality that these bozos seem to be winning the message war with regard to young men. Their lives are clearly similar – one influencer admitted he never spoke negatively about women in front of his mother; Another puffs out his chest and demands to clean his room and when his girlfriend corrects that he will also help with the chores, he immediately becomes sad – but it is sad that children cannot differentiate between these men’s public mopings and their private reality. I think the documentary should be required viewing for almost everyone – it’s an eye-opener for those who have been lucky enough to escape the darkest parts of the internet, and I hope it’s an opportunity to bring some youth back to… well, normalcy, I guess? If nothing else, Louis Theroux proves that countering the logic of a madman requires a stony-faced man with a grip on reality and a refusal to compromise on strongly held morals. Give it a watch!!!

From Mallory: I love to shop small whenever possible, but oh boy, can it get expensive. However, I found some really great home decor pieces for just $15 that I must tell you about. Well, first I have some exciting news – I got the chance to film a fun Walmart partnership last weekend (which was pretty amazing!), so I went to the store and found some really, really cool, affordable home decor products. These pieces were really special to me, so I thought I’d share! 1) This $15 Striped Tablecloth – It looks much more expensive than it is because of the fabric and stitching. 2) this fringed vase – It is very beautiful and charming! I really couldn’t believe this guy’s price. 3) this knitted vase – Very beautiful. The only thing is that you really need a pretty narrow glass or something to put the water in there, but it would be great with fake flowers. I was so impressed with their home decor, and it’s always nice to find beautiful items that don’t break the bank.

Thanks for coming and see you tomorrow 🙂
