happy Sunday everyone. Negotiations over the stained glass doors of the farmhouse guest cottage bathroom have been going on hard for the past two weeks. If you missed it, head here for your last chance to vote! Also, we hope everyone is taking care of themselves and their communities. Okay, let’s get to the link.

This week’s home tour Athena Calderon’s new Manhattan apartment has a long-awaited renovation. his previous home was The very famous Brooklyn Brownstone He created a revamp that took over the internet. Now, almost eight years later, he and his family have moved into a very historic house. It’s dark, moody, very sophisticated and full of vintage.

From Emily: I finished Colleen Hoover’s latest book, woman down (kindle + Book), over the weekend, and I have a lot of thoughts and feelings. I liked it, I just didn’t like it as much as some of his others (truth (kindle + Book), it ends with us (kindle + Book)), but still flew through it and enjoyed my Saturday morning time with it. All of her books have darkness (we know this), either toxic relationships, abuse, addiction, etc., so I pick them up when I want an entertaining page turner in the romance genre, but I generally know I’m not going to have all the good experiences like a romance or rom-com. But this was different because she was clearly processing the consequences of it ends with us The scandal that apparently knocked her down emotionally and almost professionally as well (she shut down her social media, became a recluse, etc.). Her character in this book is that of a fictional writer who went through something similar; Clearly, she was making her point and really wanted us to know how hard it was for her. I really liked that part of it. I think a lot of people like to cheer people on along the way, and then take them down when they’ve reached their peak. It was strangely comforting to hear his side of things through his character, perhaps because it was human and made me root for him. I heard it in the same spirit Sara J. maas (famous) ACOTAR author) at call your dad, And she had gone through a similar pressure cooker situation a few years ago, which almost destroyed her mental health and left her devastated. Just a reminder that people are human and despite “having it all”, we don’t know what’s going on in their inner world and how public criticism or pressure can affect them.

Also from Emily: I haven’t been this excited about a dress in a very long time (probably since the days when I used to buy Ulla Johnson’s for shoots). But this dress It’s from Anthro, and although it’s not very cheap, it’s definitely more affordable than Don’s or Ulla’s. The blue pattern is on-trend, but not too bold (I don’t like to stand out too much in the PNW when I want to feel casual), and the plaid feels so easy to wear for spring, summer, and fall. It fits really well – enough room for my ladies, but hugs in the right places around the ribs (10/10 fit). Very comfortable too! I had to wear my cakes (The strapless bra option is like sticky floppy skin that holds you up – love) Because the neckline is wide and deep (front and back). But I feel really good at it and Brian loves it.

In case you missed this week’s Instagram highlights:

Here’s a fun reel that takes it back to this project from last year – if you’re feeling inspired, check out our No-Sew Café Curtain tutorial and our Favorite Etsy Shop for Clothes. Arlene also wrote a great blog post full of online clothing stores to bookmark now that Joan is off. Check it out here🙂

We can’t get over Chrissy + Pete’s kitchen renovation — here’s a short carousel that breaks down their process. If you missed that blog post, check it out here 🙂

    It’s self-explanatory 😉

To Mallory: I met This $15 T-shirt The other day I was walking around the mall, and wow it’s so nice. Thick, perfectly boxy, and perfectly wrapped! I bought it in white and then went back to buy it in two more colors!!

From Caitlin: Man, it’s pretty dark out there, huh? This week I spent an hour enjoying the classic Rick Steves’ visit to Iran – It’s from 2009 and is a great primer for those of us who are less familiar with the social and cultural life of Iran. And if you found it interesting, I would encourage you to take a look modern iranian architecture – They are building some of the most extraordinary masonry structures in the world. There’s been a lot of news about the war, but not a single thing about the people and culture there – I think it’s been valuable to educate myself a little more about it over the past few weeks.

From Gretchen: I feel like I’ve shared my love rit die here before. Whenever I feel the urge to refresh my wardrobe, whether I want to buy something new or get rid of something I never wear, I like to try to find a compromise with myself first. Dyeing old clothes a new color is usually where I start. This week I dyed an old pair of cream linen pants a fun emerald green color using my washing machine. It was so easy, and they turned out great! Just make sure you get the right type of dye for whatever material you’re working with. Follow online instructions—They are very straightforward.

From Marley: I’m really fighting the urge to get this t In lots of colors – it’s very simple and basic, but fits the bill. Not cropped but not too long either, the sleeves fall really well, and overall the drape is so nice. I got it in size small and I would say it runs true to size. It is also very soft and has a feeling of liveliness.

From Arlin: I have some very big, exciting news to share soon (stay tuned!), but curious minds want to know: has anyone here had experience with this? sabai sofa? We may be in the market for a new section, and are considering elevate corner sectional. Although I made a living for over 3 years online selling sofas that no one could sit on before buying them and convincing customers that this was perfectly fine, I am now in that position and think this is a ridiculous idea! Will it be deep enough? Soft or very hard? Does it feel like quality construction? If you can answer any of these questions I have about this sofa brand, I would be forever grateful. (Note: I’m not looking for alternative recommendations at this time, just want specific details about Sabai, but thanks in advance for any help you’d like to offer in the comments.)

From Jess: My hair is in desperate need of moisture because the air is dry, and someone got lazy and stopped doing that. Her Favorite Weekly Moisturizing Mask. Well, it stopped with last week. I’m back to this because my hair feels really happy when I use it. Plus, I love the smell of it (which is not intended but a big plus :)).

Thanks for spending a few minutes with us today, see you tomorrow. xx
