About Marble Cake
Marble cake is a mixture of 2 flavours, here I have used chocolate and vanilla in marble design. This marble cake recipe is easy, simple and quick to make and is loved by everyone because of its taste.
Baking a marble cake is always special, I’m always amazed to see a new pattern every time you cut a piece. This cake is very soft, with a combination of chocolate and vanilla flavors making it a perfect treat for anyone.

Marble Cake Ingredients
- Flour – Use flour or plain flour.
- condensed milk – Condensed milk is the best option for eggless cake and it adds taste and flavor to the cake.
- leavening agents – Baking powder and baking soda are used.
- Sugar – Granulated white sugar is added.
- Milk – Milk is mixed in it to make batter.
- vanilla extract -Vanilla extract is added for the white vanilla layer.
- cocoa powder – Cocoa powder is added for the chocolate layer.
How to make marble cake step by step
1. Sieve the flour with baking powder and baking soda at least twice and keep aside. Cream butter and sugar in a bowl until light and fluffy. Add milk and mix well until creamy.

2. Add vanilla essence, condensed milk and stir vigorously. Then add flour, mix well and make a smooth batter.

3.Take ¼ part of the prepared batter, add cocoa powder and hot water, mix well and keep aside. Now both the batters are ready.

4.Preheat the oven at 170C for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, grease a baking pan (I used my bread loaf pan) with butter and flour. First pour half the vanilla batter and half the chocolate batter in a round shape as shown below. Then use a fork to create a marble-like pattern – don’t overdo it. Again pour the remaining vanilla batter, chocolate batter into a round shape and make a marble like pattern with a fork/knife.

5.Can you see the bumblebees? Now bake the cake at 170 degrees Celsius for 40-45 minutes or until a fork inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. Cool the cake for 10 minutes and then turn it over. Cut into pieces and enjoy.

The slices were a bit big so I cut them in half while serving. The original recipe called for orange peel for extra flavor but I left it out because I wanted a plain chocolate vanilla flavored cake.

Expert Tips
- You can just add all the vanilla batter and then all the chocolate batter and swirl. I wanted a layered pattern so made 2 layered swirls. Additionally the ratio of chocolate:vanilla batter is completely of your choice.
- The cake is very soft, so cut the cake only after it cools completely. Its texture is like vanilla sponge cake and we loved it. Perfect for kids as it is very soft and gentle.
- The cake rises well, so keep in mind that pour only up to ¾ of the cake pan.
- Make sure to cool them completely before cutting otherwise the cake will break.
serving and storage
Serve marble cake with a cup of juice or coffee. It remains good for 1 day at room temperature and 2-3 days in the refrigerator. Microwave it to warm and serve.
