    About Pizza Paratha

Pizza Paratha is a fusion recipe where Indian paratha is combined with pizza style filling. In this recipe, wheat dough is rolled and filled with vegetables, sauce and cheese. Then it is covered with a second layer and cooked on the pan until it turns golden. It is easy to make and looks very special when served.

This paratha is soft from inside and crisp from outside. Wheat flour gives base, structure and holds it well. The vegetables add crunch and freshness and the cheese melts inside and gives a gooey texture. This recipe is liked by both children and adults.

You can try some variations in this recipe, add vegetables like corn, mushrooms or paneer or depending on what you have and also add more paneer and make it more rich. You can adjust the spices and sauces based on your preference and taste, also add chili pieces and herbs for added flavor.

I usually make it when I want to have something different for dinner. This is a quick and filling meal and does not take much time. Sometimes I pack it in a lunch box and it stays good for a few hours.

    Pizza Paratha Ingredients

    • wheat flour – I used wheat flour or made flour. This gives a soft texture and makes it filling. You can use good quality flour.
    • Onion – I added chopped onion for stuffing. It adds mild crispness and sweetness. You can leave if not needed.
    • Capsicum – I use bell pepper or capsicum for flavor and color. This gives a slight crispiness to the filling. You can use any color capsicum.
    • baby corn – I added boiled baby corn for texture. It gives a mild sweet taste. You can take sweet corn or mushroom instead.
    • oregano – I added oregano to give the pizza a mild, herbaceous flavor. You can also adjust as per taste.
    • chilli flakes – I used chili flakes to balance the mild spice, heat, and cheese. You can reduce for children.
    • pizza sauce – I have added pizza sauce to add flavor, spicy taste and bind the filling. You can use homemade or store bought.
    • Cheese – I used cheese for stuffing. It melts and gives a sticky texture. You can add something else if you want.
    • Oil – I have just added it while kneading the dough and cooking the paratha. It gives golden spots and a crispy crust.

    Expert Tips

    • dough texture – I keep the dough soft and non-sticky. If the dough is too stiff, it will not roll easily and may even break while rolling.
    • draining water – I keep the chopped vegetables aside and drain off the excess water. This helps to avoid soggy stuffing and keeps it better.
    • rolling – I roll the paratha evenly so that the stuffing spreads well inside. Do not make it too thin otherwise the filling may come out.
    • seal – I press and seal the edges well so that the filling does not come out while cooking. If it is not sealed properly it may open.
    • cooking – I cook on medium flame till golden spots appear on both the sides. This helps in cooking the inside properly and gives a good texture.

    serving and storage

Serve Pizza Paratha hot with sauce or chutney. It tastes good as dinner or breakfast. It is best to eat the cheese fresh when it is soft. If storing, reheat on pan before serving.
