About Chocolate Cornflakes
Chocolate Cornflakes are made by first melting chocolate, mixing it with cornflakes and adding sprinkles on top. The mixture is then divided into small batches and left to freeze until it hardens. You get a nice crunch from the cornflakes with a soft chocolate coating – such a nice mix in each bite.
You can use chocolate chips or cooking chocolate, whatever you have on hand. I mostly use dark and milk chocolate as it is well balanced and doesn’t make it too sweet. If you like a rich flavour, you can also add a few drops of vanilla essence. Sprinkle sugar beads or small colored sprinkles on top for a festive look.
The recipe is flexible. You can keep it simple or add nuts and dry fruits to it. For a more indulgent version you can add roasted seeds, even small marshmallows. You can also sprinkle a little sea salt on top for a sweet and salty taste. Totally your choice, just use whatever you like and whatever you have at home.

My kids love Christmas baking, especially cookies, cakes, and sweets like that. This is one of his favourites. It looks very rich and delicious yet it is very easy and simple to make. I have used a mixture of chocolate like milk and dark, you can change or adjust it as per your choice and preference.

- cornflakes – I used plain unsweetened cornflakes. If you are using sweets then you should reduce the honey a little. Before mixing, crush gently so that it sticks well but still retains some crispness.
- Chocolate – This is the main ingredient that coats the cornflakes. For balance I usually use milk chocolate and dark chocolate. You can also use completely dark or milk chocolate.
- spraying -It is added for topping to make it look beautiful and festive.

Expert Tips
- melting chocolate – I melted the chocolate using the double boiler method because it melts evenly. If you heat directly on the stove it may burn or become grainy, so it is better to avoid this.
- chocolate consistency – It should be smooth and runny so that it coats the cornflakes well. If it becomes too thick, add a teaspoon of butter to loosen it and mix.
- mixture – You must work fast once the chocolate has melted. Mix the cornflakes gently so that they do not lose their crunchy texture.
- to set time – Place in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes – 1 hour so that it hardens. If the weather is cool, you can even set up outside.
- change in taste -You can try adding a pinch of cinnamon powder for warmth or a little coffee powder for a mocha-like flavor.
serving and storage
Serve it cold or even at room temperature. It is good for tea time snack, lunch or dinner small dessert or even for kids snack boxes. If packing for a lunch box, simply wrap each piece in butter paper so they don’t stick together. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Take out just before serving so that it remains crisp.
