About Oreo Ice Cream
Oreo ice cream is a homemade frozen dessert made using cream, milk and Oreo biscuits. When there is a desire to eat something cold, it is commonly prepared as a no-cook frozen dessert in many homes. It has a creamy base and is mixed with chocolate biscuit flavour.
The texture remains soft, creamy and there are biscuit pieces inside. It freezes well in the freezer and cooks easily after resting. It also tastes good mixed with biscuit pieces and sprinkled on top. It maintains its shape well even when served in a bowl or cone. After freezing for a few hours, its taste also becomes better.
This recipe can be changed depending on preference. You can try any Oreo flavor, even add additional crushed biscuits on top for crunch. You can also add chocolate chips or nuts for added taste and flavor and serve it plain or with brownies, cakes or waffles. It also pairs well with hot desserts for contrast and makes a nice combination.
I usually make this when kids demand to eat something cold and sweet at home. It is very easy and does not take much time to make. I like to keep it ready in the freezer to serve dessert at any time.
oreo ice cream ingredients
- fresh cream – I add fresh cream for a smooth and creamy texture and to help the ice cream set well after freezing.
- Milk – Milk is used to loosen the creamy texture and make it easier to mix, it also balances the richness of the cream.
- Oreo Biscuits – I have added Oreo biscuits for chocolate flavor and crunchy taste.
- Sugar – Sugar to balance the sweetness and taste in the ice cream and you can add more or less as per your taste.
- vanilla essence – I add vanilla essence for the main flavor. It gives that classic vanilla aroma.

Expert Tips

- smash Mouth – I crush the Oreo biscuits coarsely with a rolling pin or by hand, smaller pieces give a better bite than fine powder.
- to solidify – Freeze for at least 8 hours or overnight for best set. Less time can make it soft, not hard.
- served – Leave out for a few minutes before scooping. This makes scooping easy and effortless.
- storage – Keep in an airtight container to avoid ice particles. If handled properly it stays good for a few days in the freezer.
serving and storage
If you wish, serve it as an evening dessert, after the meal, with brownies, chocolate cake or plain biscuits. Also always keep it in a freezer safe container with a tight lid. It stays good in the freezer for about 1 week. Leave it out for a few minutes before scooping out.
general questions and answers
