Christmas Cornflake Wreaths are small treats made of marshmallows, cornflakes, butter and shaped like little green wreaths. They look bright and festive and come together in just minutes which are perfect for this holiday season. These wreaths have a lightly sweet flavor with a soft chewy texture and a slight crunch that comes from the cornflakes.
You can make this when you want a quick breakfast that doesn’t require baking or much planning. They store well in the fridge and remain soft due to the sticky base, so it is quite easy to keep. The mixture is shaped into small wreaths, and small candies are pressed on top to give a nice Christmas look. The texture remains lightly chewy, while the cornflakes still add crunch here and there.
Wreath cookies are fun treats that you can make for your kids during this festive season. I’m sure the kids will love it! These floral cookies are so easy and fun to make, it only takes 10 minutes of your time to make this beautiful and delicious treat!
It’s been a tradition to make these cornflake wreaths every year for Christmas. This recipe is quite popular during Christmas as it does not require an oven or a long time to cook. These garlands remain strong even after cooling, so you can easily decorate them on the plate without any hassle. You can make them in different sizes, and the shade of green adds a cheerful touch of holiday.
The flavor mainly comes from the melted marshmallows and butter, while the vanilla adds a warm little flavor that goes well with everything. You can decorate with any red candies, and the whole garland looks colorful without much effort. This is a recipe that you can customize by changing the colors or using different candies.
I usually make these on Christmas Eve when I need something quick and not too heavy on the stomach. Also, children also enjoy making them.

Christmas Cornflake Wreath Material
- cornflakes – I have used it as a crunchy base and it gives a light crunchy texture. You can also replace it with rice crispies for a softer crunch.
- marshmallow – I added it for sticky hold and chewy sweetness, it binds everything together well. You can use small or large marshmallows, both work fine.
- butter – I’ve used it to melt marshmallows easily and add little rich flavor. You can also substitute with ghee, but butter usually tastes better.
- vanilla essence – I added it for a mild flavor and it pairs well with the sweetness of the marshmallow. If you want, you can also use almond essence.
- green food coloring – I used it to color the mixture. You can also use gel or natural color.
- red candies – I add on top for decoration and light crunch. You can also use gems or small candy pieces if you like.

Expert Tips
- melting state – I make sure to melt the marshmallows until completely smooth as lumps will make shaping a little difficult and the wreaths won’t look neat.
- shaping time – I usually shape them while the mixture is still hot because once it cools it becomes hard and very sticky.
- Water – Try not to get too much water on your fingers, just dip lightly once so that the mixture doesn’t get wet.
- Colour – I add and mix the green color slowly as it brightens very easily, adjusting little by little works best.
- candy squeeze – I make sure to add the candies while the mixture is still soft so that they stick properly and stay in place even after cooling.
serving and storage
Serve them warm with other Christmas snacks or leave to cool before serving for a stronger flavour. They go great with cookies, brownies or any holiday dessert. Store leftovers in an airtight container for two to three days, and then refrigerate if you want them to stay solid. There is no need to reheat for this recipe, just let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes before eating.
