Chocolate Kulfi is a rich creamy frozen dessert made using milk, cocoa powder, chocolate chips and khoya. It is made by boiling the milk mixture until it thickens and then pouring it into molds. It has a deep chocolatey flavor with a creamy texture that feels very satisfying. Its taste is slightly spicy and sweet which many people will like.

It is a perfect dessert for weekends and special occasions at home. It doesn’t require much effort and gives the feel of traditional kulfi with a chocolate twist. I usually make this when I want something different from regular kulfi and it gives a nice change.

    About Chocolate Kulfi

Chocolate kulfi is a variation of traditional Indian kulfi usually made with milk and nuts. Here chocolate is added to give it a chocolatey twist. It is made by reducing milk and adding cocoa and chocolate which makes it rich. This is a simple recipe that you can easily try at home.

The texture of this kulfi is richer and creamier than ice cream. It is not very airy and has a coarse cutting edge. Cocoa powder and chocolate chips give strong chocolate flavor and richness. When eaten, its taste is soft and creamy.

You can try some variations on this recipe, you can add nuts like almonds or pistachios for added texture and increase the chocolate for a stronger flavor or reduce it for a lighter version, so you can adjust this recipe based on your preference. Some people also add condensed milk for extra sweetness.

I usually make it during the weekend and keep it ready in the freezer. It is easy to make and remains good for a few days. Everyone at home likes it very much, from children to adults. I love trying different types of kulfi and this is my recent try. We all enjoyed and appreciated this chocolate kulfi.

    Chocolate Kulfi Ingredients

    • Milk – I used milk as a base for creamy texture and richness and it gives good results, for better taste you can use full cream milk.
    • corn flour – Corn flour is added to thicken the mixture and give it a creamy texture and helps avoid ice crystals.
    • cocoa powder – Cocoa powder adds chocolate flavor and gives dark color to the kulfi and you can adjust it as per your liking.
    • Sugar – Sugar is added for sweetness and it balances the taste of cocoa and you can adjust the quantity as per your taste.
    • Dark Choco Chips – Dark choco chips add sweetness and melt easily into the mixture giving more chocolatey flavor and you can also use regular chocolate.
    • lost – I used khoya and it gives thick creamy texture, rich taste and you can use store bought or homemade khoya.
