happy Sunday everyone! It was another busy week (partly because it was short, so no complaints here :)) So, in the spirit of keeping things short, let’s end this little intro since we don’t have any new updates and jump to these links.
This week’s home tour This is probably one of Heidi Callier’s cutest projects to date. This is a house in Carmel-by-the-Sea, and it’s full of charm. You really have to go see it!
From Emily: Sorry for the double rick if you follow our substackBut I’m so thrilled about all the TV adaptations of these beloved romance novels (especially, today) closed premises). I read an article this week that claimed that “yearning” is super cool with Gen Z, as opposed to more graphic sex scenes, and I was like, “Girl, This has always been my wish“. I’ve always enjoyed the “almost kisses” more than the actual kisses of all my favorite teen shows (though). bridgerton Season 1 really broke it, their kissing is very acceptable). Any how, closed premises So far so good. It’s a blast, it has great chemistry, great casting, and funny dialogue, and while it follows a story that is technically always a cliché (it totally falls into the “fake dating” category, with the nerd/jock tension), there’s something very comforting about knowing the plot, so you can actually enjoy the whole longing. It is on Amazon Prime. But I’m even more excited about Carly Fortune’s smash hit, after every summerComing as a series on Amazon Prime in a few weeks. Not to mention Ali Hazlewood love hypothesisWhich, if you haven’t read, is in for a quick, fun experience. Friends, it’s the summer of love, and I’m here for it!!!
From Jess: If you’re looking for a really fun brand that has colorful, fun clothes for summer that also include sizes, you’ve got to check this out. never fully dressed. I am shopping for my summer holidays and I love these clothes. Of course, I just bought it a plain white tankHahahaha, but seriously, I love their pieces.
From Gretchen: Last weekend, I went out gorge amphitheater With some friends for a concert. I Desire I can say it was a magical weekend, but after driving 4 hours from Portland to the venue and then waiting for eleven hours Thousands of people’s cars stuck in line Waiting to get in…it was nothing. We thought we would be able to set up camp around 5-6 pm, but our tents didn’t open until around 2:30 pm. It was wild. But it was an experience that ultimately made me extra grateful for my wonderful friends, beautiful nature, and high-quality camping gear, which brings me to my link. For this trip, I desperately needed to upgrade the position of my camping chair. The pair of chairs I had were mismatched, barely comfortable, and eventually falling apart (think ember burn holes and frayed threads). After sitting in my friend’s double-wide camping chair at our last festival hangout, I knew this was the one for me. It’s a little more expensive, but amazing quality and very comfortable. It comes in an easy-to-carry case that doubles as a floor mat or dog bed, but it’s also easy to take off and pack away. It sits lower to the ground than a typical camping chair, making it extra easy to relax in, plus the double-wide nature makes it feel like you have a sofa in your set-up! I bought the green one And I love it, but my friends have it in the teal/brown combo, and it’s just as cute. Highly recommended if you are looking to upgrade your camping sit-sitch. and it looks like this backward is offering 20% off full priced items through 6/1, so stock up on your camping essentials!
From Marlee: Somehow I’ve gone my entire adult life without investing in a pair of good sunglasses — I usually get a pair from Madewell, which I love, but they’re more for looks. For some reason, I thought you had to buy $100+ sunglasses to be glare-free in the sun. but i just bought these sunglasses For $68 because I really liked the shape of mine, and I was very pleasantly surprised when I went out in the sun, and there was no shine on them. They’re so cute, and I no longer get incredibly overexcited whenever I’m trying to walk around without a hat on an extremely bright day. Would recommend!
From Caitlin: This isn’t the type of content I’m used to (I have a hard time paying attention on celebrity/interview podcasts), but you simply must give it a listen. Keke Palmer’s interview with Shawn Evans (Guy from the Hot Ones). friends. Their chemistry is amazing. They’re flirty, they’re funny, they’re sweet – I was forced to smile from ear to ear while driving the U-Haul, which is saying something. You don’t need to know anything about anyone (I don’t follow anyone) – it’s like the IRL version of the desire M described above. Shawn is very likable, that’s abundantly clear (Mr. and Mrs. Evans’ row at the end in front of Keke’s mom! I was surprised!), and their dynamic is so charming and unexpected. Must listen. I swear, it’s worth it. Together we can develop strange parasocial relationships!!! (I mean. They have to date!)
From Mallory: If you’re looking for a fire pit for your outdoor space this summer (it doesn’t have to be thousands of dollars), might I recommend This one?? I bought it in white for my outdoor terrace space, and I’m a big fan of it. It has a subtle terrazzo pattern that adds variety but still goes with everything, plus it’s hollow in the middle, and it weighs about 80 pounds, which is just right – heavy enough that it won’t blow away but light enough that when you have to set it up or move it, it won’t throw your back out if you’re carrying it with another person. It comes in a ton of colors and costs less than $500! I also interrupted it To hide the propane tank and act as a side table. I couldn’t love this setup more!!
From Arlene: During my move, I decided to downsize a lot of things I owned that either no longer served me or that I couldn’t imagine living without. My traditional air fryer (Instant Pot brand) didn’t necessarily fall into any of these categories, but I was eager to switch to something more non-toxic. I gave my old one to a neighbor and took a deeper look at less toxic versions. For some time, I’ve been eyeing the Ninja Glass version, but I read several stories of the glass cracking or breaking – nope. so i spent the money on it Kosori One that has a full stainless steel body and a ceramic-coated inner basket, and so far it’s been amazing. It gets hotter (450) than my Instant Pot air fryer, has a beautiful glass-top touch interface, and I find it better to cook for my family in it. It’s expensive, and I hope the ceramic coating lasts, but for now, I’m happy with it.
Thanks for taking some time out of your day to hang out with us and see you tomorrow for a very fun post we think many of you will be very curious about 🙂 xx
