New modern classics: woven leather seats
This type of wide strap, woven leather seat is in a whole new modern classic category. This style originated over 100 years ago in places like Spain and Scandinavia (according to my research). So while the technology isn’t “new”, it is incredibly beautiful, versatile, and refreshing. Depending on the tone you choose, these would be a great moment of modern texture in a neutral organic home, a modern MCM-style home, or a more traditional home. that stool Could work seamlessly into my house or Emily’s house. Did you notice that the leather on the stool is dark olive green?? Tip-Top!!
New modern classics: curved back dining chairs
Curved back dining chairs are something we’ve talked about a lot on this blog because they’re extremely beautiful and generally the most comfortable style. An upholstered seat is also very important, which all three of these wonderful chairs have. Whereas first chair While it doesn’t have an upholstered back like the other two, the wishbone style is a classic in its own right! Plus, the rich toned leather seat with the light wood frame is gorgeous. It also comes in a few other colors, which are equally easy on the eyes.
The New Modern Classics: Chunky MCM Accent Chairs
(Right) There’s something very nice about a chunky chair. It’s attractive, it adds architecture to the place, and of course, it’s a nice place to sit. Form and function in one π These three are a little different but have the right amount of mid-century modern leanings with the right amount of heft. Creamy It has amazing angled arms and just the right amount of open space on the backrest. velvety chocolate colored It’s very cool but cozy, has an almost tubular, round shape, but is elevated even more by the exposed dark wooden legs. brown chair It’s also that “Hey, sit here!” Aura, but still has the same MCM architectural form. Plus, he moves!
The New Modern Classics: Marble Accent Tables
Marble tables have been on the rise in a big way for the past few years, and we don’t see them going anywhere. I mean, why would they do that?? It’s a natural material that adds a lot of visual texture and movement. It also looks expensive (even if you got it at a very good price ;)) which doesn’t hurt either. With these three, I love that the shapes are more modern as opposed to the traditional feeling that marble gives. They also work with any style. Great things to invest in.
New modern classics: raw wood coffee table
Like marble, natural materials like “raw” wood, when beautifully crafted, will always be classic. For example, these three coffee tables! The shapes are on the modern side, but because you can see the natural grain and the sealant is quite matte, they have a timelessness. They almost look like natural pieces of modern art. They would look very grounding but visually bold in a room.
New Modern Classics: Fluted Credenzas and Dressers
While I think this era of design will become synonymous with various variations of the fluted/slatted accent, I also know that when done right, it’s a style that has lasting power. For example, look at these two sideboards. the dark one It’s a little more unique in its shape, but it has that bold “modern art” aesthetic that makes it feel so special and not something you’ll ever want to part with. light sideboard Far more simple and classic in shape, but interesting and textured with slat details. Two winners.
Keeping this front-panel style, but with a different function, are these two dressers. The tones are neutral and classic, the hardware is minimal, but the textures make them totally liveable. Will instantly add so much buzz to the bedroom.
New Modern Classics: Broken Stripe/Plaid Rug
Broken stripe and now, modern plaid are two rug patterns we know are here to stay. I love that brown one too much. It is very versatile. It would look perfect in a minimalist neutral space as well as an eclectic maximalist space that could use a little color grounding, but with a pattern that isn’t boring. slightly slow notes of blue and green Are very beautiful, and the overall pattern really creates the feeling of an heirloom. At the end, the last one For me it is the most visually daring with the contrasting colors, but it is also very simple and beautiful. This will bring so much vibrancy to a room!
New modern classics: solid saturated rugs
On saturated, solid-colored rugs. This is another βnew modern classicβ weβve added to the roster recently, and for me, with good reason. They are gorgeous and really make a room look great while adding a lot of personality. i love micro fringe the green oneand feces were used earthy colored Her last apartment’s living room revealed, and it’s so beautiful in person!
If you like the idea of ββa solid color but want some kind of pattern or texture, both of these are perfect for you. The patterns are extremely simple and classic, but give you something visually appealing. blue colored Also comes in rust and beige!
New Modern Classics: Spindle Bed
Truly a forever classic. Spindle beds are and always will be a classic, but we love the modern version too! I would actually classify all of these as “modern” because of their beautiful, clean lines. Both of these are really pretty, so it’s really just a matter of which style will work better with your overall design π
New Modern Classics: Velvet Curved Bed
Then, on the opposite side of bedding design are these wonderful thick, velvety, curved beds. They’re gorgeous, but since the profile of the headboard is lower than your standard “big bed,” they don’t dominate your eyes. This is their modern side and that is why I also deeply feel that they fall in this category. Not too ornate or fussy, just bold, simple and comfortable.
The New Modern Classics: Fluted and Slatted Vanities
We haven’t finished this description yet! Like our sideboards and dressers, bathroom vanities also fall into a similar category β important storage. i like the simplicity of it the first one – Single drawer knob (with great internal storage) and that dark countertop. But if you prefer white countertops or another base color, you have plenty of options. the second one This is actually the same vanity that my cousin bought for the primary suite in her mid-century modern home. They are very happy with the quality and think the amount of storage is amazing. It comes in many other sizes too!
The New Modern Classics: Marble Bowls and Trays
Natural materials are classic, whether it’s a table or a tray. These three bowls/trays are in the new modern classics category because of their size. The trend of fringed marble/stone bowls has increased rapidly in the last few years. The footed bowl is beloved not only for its function, but also for the height it gives any vignette of which it is a part. Finally, a simple circle marble tray couldn’t be more versatile. Any home can (and probably should) have one π
New Modern Classics: Keep Your Eye Out…
These next two categories are ones we’re not ready to officially induct into the new Modern Classics Hall of Fame, but they’re on our radar (and we’re excited about them).
geometric craving wood storage
wow i love this cabinet. Why do I think it has “new modern classic” potential? Firstly, its natural wood is a big reason. Natural ingredients often provide “longevity”. Secondly, the geometric carving style is unrealistic. This, in particular, gives it a lot of movement, as the shapes are not the same size. To me, it is a piece of art. Okay, onto the next one…
hand painted graphic vase
I may be a little biased on this because I have a similar vase, but graphic hand-painted vases are here to stay. They add texture, function and sculpture to your room. i love the sounds of This one So much more, and it’s so versatile. 10/10!
That’s all for today! So while these were our sales picks, most modern There are lots more amazing, high-quality finds and great deals, so if you’re looking for some new pieces I recommend taking a look. There really is something for everyone. Happy designing π
