happy Sunday everyone. I’m sure most of you are on top of this, but don’t forget that Mother’s Day is next week! Otherwise, we hope everyone is doing fine. As Caitlin wrote in her beautiful and extremely informative post, you don’t always know what people are going through. So if you could use a little love or a hug, we’re sending one your way, virtually! Okay, here are this week’s links…

This week’s home tour Have a fun and colorful renovation! But this time it’s not for a young family but a wonderful retired couple. Come see what they did!

From Emily: Oh my god, I love Scandal, especially when it comes to reality stars or influencers (remember that). scamanda? or did you see apple cider vinegar??). Last weekend, while doing endless housework (at least 12-15 hours a day, I swear), I watched the new podcast series, love trapped (by those who produced BetrayalWhich is also an interesting series). This is a true crime scandal about a woman who accuses Clayton Eckart (the notoriously bad Bachelor who told two women at the Final 3 Rose Ceremony that he had sex with both of them and loved them both – OOF) of fathering her twin pregnancies, despite not having intercourse on their only date. It’s been a nightmare of two years that is literally now unfolding in real time. This woman goes to such great lengths just to take him down (and we realize this is a pattern), and it’s both maddening and charming. I don’t want to spoil it, and certainly listen to it at 1.2 speed (it might be unnecessary), but it killed the weekend’s errands.

From Jess: I have A new lightweight leave-in moisturizer that I love. It started with me trying ROZ shampoo And conditioner – Both amazing, and I have already repurchased. Then, when I ran out of my last leave-in conditioner, I decided to try them because my best friend was obsessed with it. We both have fine hair, but it says it’s good for all hair types. It smells great and leaves my hair soft and frizz free. I’ve been using it for over a month! It can also be used as a refresher on your second day locks.

From Gretchen: My favorite quick and easy hairstyle is with me Conair Triple Barrel Waver. I’ve had this bad boy for years, and it’s very reliable, affordable, and fool-proof. I don’t know about you, but whenever I try to curl my hair with a regular curling iron or even my straightener, the results never turn out like the guy at the mall kiosk assured me. But with this handy crimper, I can always trust that it will turn out the way I intended. It heats up fast and doesn’t even need to be held on your hair for long to work. I can do my entire head in 10 minutes or less, and it gives me exactly the messy, wavy, textured look I’m going for.

Tiffany Howell and Laura Harrier did a great collaboration with Crate & BarrelAnd as you can see, it’s amazing. Six years ago, actress Laura Harrier commissioned Tiffany Howell to design his house. Of course, it was amazing. Then they turned that partnership into this incredible collaboration. Here are some of our favorite pieces:

salon swivel accent chair | Biba Wall Sconce Light | Vesper Brass and Grasscloth Storage Media Console

sonja chandelier light | Bianca accent chair | Bowery Silver Table Lamp

Arlo Burl Wood and Brass Gloss Lacquer Bar Cabinet | cinema vanity | Mystic Chaise Lounge

From Marli: I just came back from a trip and used this bag The *whole* time. There are a few things about it that I like – first, there’s a lot of space. It was able to carry breakfast, a light layer, a camera, a water bottle, and little treasures I had acquired throughout the day. Oh, and a portable charger, wallet, passport, etc. It’s incredibly cute (I love gingham), but for me, the best part is how comfortable it was to wear. My biggest complaint with cross-body bags is how much the strap can dig into your shoulders – not only is the strap on this thick enough not to dig in, but the actual weight of the bag is distributed in a really nice way. I was packing it full load (even with heavy luggage) and not once did my shoulders hurt. It has a small button snap/cinch on the main compartment, so it doesn’t actually close completely, but I didn’t find this to be a problem at all. Possibly the best bag I’ve traveled with recently! Big fan and looked so cute 🙂

From Caitlin: I’m doing something crazy today: recommending a plastic item. (Who am I?!) ICYMI – I’m selling my childhood home and taking over a temporary storage unit for what I consider my “senti-mentos” – Christmas decorations, ceramics, art, family photos, and so on – until I’m able to move to a larger place. I’m usually neurotic about only buying natural ingredients, but I also know that the thought of my family’s heirlooms being damaged by moisture, critters, or a myriad of monsters is enough to send me straight into psychosis. To this end, I set out to find the best storage bins on the market. And I found them! (Literally 25% of the cost of what they were selling for at Target, no less!) They’re huge, wirecutter-tested, ultra-sturdy, but the best part is they have wheels and a handle. I got sets of green for Christmas stuff, gray for functional items (like my grandpa’s tools), and blue for all things decor (I know this is very EHD of me). I love how much they store (they’re much larger than the average plastic tote), and my formerly broken L4 and L5 love that I can lug them around the basement to my heart’s content. If you’re also looking for your forever litter box, I really like this one!

From Arlin: We’ve had a Sony flat-panel TV in our living room for nearly a decade, and honestly, it’s still going strong. But we need to shuffle some of the screens to bring something into the guest bedroom, since we’re expecting a handful of friends and family this summer. I’ve never cared that much about the latest in TV technology, but I do like the look of ultra-slim, matte, frame-like TVs. Less because they display art and I’m trying to “hide” my television, but more because it takes up less visual space. We took a brief trip to Best Buy last weekend and saw Samsung’s The Frame Pro (which has a wireless box that you can plug all your stuff into, or rather, Charles can plug all his stuff into it), Canvas TV by Hisense The sales representative recommended it to us, and TCL Class NXTVISION. We have to put the TV above the fireplace because there is no other room for it in our new living room, but we were told that their picture quality is very poor if not viewed directly. Plus, they all come with their own proprietary slim mount, and we would prefer a higher tilt mount that much. Does anyone here have any experience with a similar setup and can give me their opinion on what worked for them? Please and thank you!

From Mallory: I love the look of knit flats (and I love that they can be so comfortable and breathable), but they’re not always super durable — my little toes broke last summer and I had to get rid of them. so when i found These are with double layer (but they’re still so light and airy), I knew they were the pair for me! And bonus points, they’re super padded and easy to take on and off (so no, you don’t have to use buckles, which is a big win). They come in a ton of colors, but I got them in red. I couldn’t recommend them more!

Thank you all for coming here today and tomorrow! xx
